True - there wasn't much anyone could do about some of the changes. (Although why having 10m is better than having VDV I'm still not sure). But even last year's team got a record points haul and probably less than half of last year's regulars will feature this year. Seems a bit odd. Just don't want one of those famous Spurs things: "a year of transition".
VDV's transfer was a sad moment for the club, and simultaneously disastrous for him. He became a real hero at WHL in such a short space of time. Goes to Germany - injury problems come back - loses form - and smacks his outrageously beautiful wife. I can't imagine he will ever look back on the last year with any fondness.
Vdv wanted to go for personal reasons, not the clubs fault and credit to vdv for doing it the right way. I can't imagine levy is a monster so if a player goes up and says he wants to go to a different country for the sake of his marriage I'm sure he understood and helped him out. Maybe bale learned from him? Who knows
The final word on Bale? http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2...Twitter&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Twitter Probably not.
Lets hope it to us! Right, lets get Ledley King out there saying Real should let Coentrao talk to us as it's a chance of a lifetime
Sadly, the only Portuguesers we have to talk up Spurs are Ruben Lameiras, Helder Postiga, Ricardo Rocha and Jose Domiguez...
Latest score Zenit Petersburg 3-0 Anzhi Makhachkala Come on, Willian. Come to Spurs, you know it makes sense.
Said during the match that Liverpool were very confident of a big signing, thought to be will.i.an. So yeah, let's hope he's coming to the lane
Looks like Assou-Ekotto's definitely gone. please log in to view this image Calum ‏@calumhdavidson 39m Just bumped into Benoit Assou Ekotto in France - says he's been told by AVB not to report for training #bbcfootball pic.twitter.com/Lt2YEpmCp3
Beni was as entertaining as the rest of both teams put together in the preseason Liverpool game I saw in Baltimore. 95 degrees Fahrenheit, (42 C, maybe), and he diverted himself and the rest of us by seeing how many different ways he could take the ball from Liverpool players. LOL.
I don't think we're getting Coentrau. Why would he put in a transfer request to come to us ? I've never heard of anyone putting in a transfer request to leave one of the top clubs in the CL to go to a club that isn't even in it. Saying that I don't know why a manager would tell a player that he can't come to training either so I'd take that story with a pinch of salt as well. The account i've seen has him in the match squad for tomorrow anyway.
Because then it makes it look like he wants to leave rather than Real getting rid of him to get Bale. Real will do all the dirty tactics.
it's all part of the Bale saga. Bale's a done deal. But coentrao isn't heading this way until the end of the window when bale goes to RM, after we've done all of our other business. If Coentrao heads this way tomorrow, people will ask why RM were so easy to deal with regarding Coentrao, when everyone knows they are desperate for Bale. Surely if a club wants one of your players (Bale), you would use the player they want in return against them (coentrao), so you got the player you wanted? (bale). - Obviously that's my opinion and not fact. i just think it's beginning to get more and more obvious. There's no reason to believe that this young lad is telling porkies. There's photographic evidence of him outside a shop in france and we haven't seen benny all preseason. - Game over for Benny, sadly. It's also known that AVB and benny don't have the best relationship. It'll be interesting to see if Ade is in the squad tomorrow too. I read that he's been pretty much put in the same situation and told to train on his own, as AVB wants shot of him.
I'm not 100% sure I follow what you are saying, but I think you are suggesting that RM would try to stop Coentrau coming to spurs until the Bale deal is done, so that they could use Coentrau as a bargaining chip in getting the Bale deal done. I don't disagree with that so much, but it doesn't explain why Coentrau should be so desperate to come to leave RM to come to Spurs that he would put in a transfer request. I don't think I can think of an instance of a player putting in a transfer request to go to (and I mean this as no disrespect to TH), a smaller club. With regards to Benny, all I know is that someone has taken a picture of him. I don't know when it was taken or where it was taken. I also don't believe that a manager would tell a player not to turn up to training, even if he was trying to sell him. It makes no sense does it ?
