    From BBC.

Arsenal fans perhaps not need to be too disheartened at not winning on the opening day of the season. On the first match day of the previous 21 Premier League seasons, the eventual champions have won 12 times, had six draws and lost three times. The overall win % of champions on the opening day of the season is therefore 57%, which compares with an average 67% win ratio across the entire season for Premier League champions.

Yes but if you lose you only have a 9.6% chance of winning the league according to those stats <doh>

Collectively it wasn't great defending but that should take nothing away from the finish.

True, but equally, the fact it was a good finish should not take anything away from the **** defending. First Chico playing 3 yards behind the rest allowing RVP to be onside, then getting easily beaten by 1 chest control and then Williams trying to karate kick the ball instead of heading it <ok>

Williams could have only headed that ball if he had the neck if a giraffe FFS. Van Persie had got free & was 2 yards beyond him

The ball was head height... all he had to do was put his head in, jump towards it, anything to get close to it and it would have been a free kick. He wouldn't have even needed to win the ball just get close with his head and would have been dangerous play by RVP.

Has he got his revenge on RVP yet from accusations of the murder charge?

You played well today mate tbf & probably should have been out of sight, but despite you attacking dominance Stoke could & probably should have scored 3 themselves. I think your openness is still going to prove your Achilles heel if today is anything to go by.
