I hope Giroud and Rosicky feel a little bit **** about themselves for not converting those excellent chances early on in the second half. I actually think Rosicky played really well but he needs to find some composure.
We wasted a few weeks with the Higuain saga and at least a month with the Suarez ****e and ended up with neither player. In fact we've ended up with nobody. If wenger had wanted either of them he should've stumped up the money and not been a tight fisted ****. FFS
Cazorla has not had a full pre-season and he was playing in Ecuador on Wednesday, so only returned on Friday I think. Podolski is not really a key player. He is pretty hit and miss.
Ref wasn't great and gave out too many yellows, but he wasn't the main cause of teh defeat. Arsenal was still good enough to win the game but they lost focus and some of their decision making was poor. Also they were complaining too much and not concentrating on the game.
Our season is only over if Wenger hadn't realized already we're short on CBs and other defensive players, and good competition for CF, and a versatile winger.
Yeh looking forward to Adam running. The best bit of talent coming out for us at the moment. Lets hope he can get a medal!
Not been here for a while but it's like I was here yesterday. Same faces discussing the same issues and the same manager making the same mistakes. Sad day for Wenger when you think about what resources he has at his disposal. Sad day for the fans who support him through thick and thin. good luck for the season lads! we'll need it!
Not sure what new signings would have done today? WE were clearly dominating Villa at one point and creating plenty. Had we slowed things down after the penalty and maintained possession, I couldn't see how Villa could have won. Villa wasn't great, we just made mistakes and looked a little headless at times. Maybe Arteta's presence is a calming influence on us?
Really? You don't see how a DM would have stopped Villa players just having a free pass to run at the defence? Wilshere and Ramsey does not work together at the base of midfield.
We're gonna be missing Arteta for six weeks, so this form could continue since we always lose without him. We should have bought Gustavo though. What happens if Ramsey gets injured in the next six weeks?? Wilshere as DM? It's ridiculous. Also Begovic/Mignolet would have been better than Shez, and Suarez/Higuain would have created more than Giroud.
Well, welcome back anyway. I wish there was a better result to discuss but today was an unmitigated disaster. I'm not foolish enough to believe it will define our season however. We'll bounce back.
Your perspective is still welcome here. Not all of us are that averse to going against the party line.
The problems as i've said today was the composure of the players. In my opinion we let Villa in with the mistakes we made. I didn't see the second goal but the first goal was definately a mistake from our defense and mainly keeper. Saying that, we still need reinforcements and Wenger's delay in the market is backfiring badly.
