Considering we were 2nd best for larger parts of the game - I'll take the draw Did we sit back too much or did Everton press us hard enough to keep us sitting back? Whatever, all credit to Everton, Barkley and Distin in particular
I'll take 2-2. Promising signs with a below-strength side, against a full-strength side looking to challenge the top 6. Ricky's off the mark which is important, Whittaker playing like he's always threatened he could, and Howson showing signs of how he finished last season. Redmond excellent too. I think we're a work in progress, but it's something to build on.
Just 2 shots on target, okay they both went in so the ratio of strikes on goal to goals is impressive enough but.........
Worrying how little elliot bennett was involved in the game today, thank goodness whittaker had a stormer otherwise there was no threat on the right. Obvious lack of quality from set pieces without snoddy.
But some huge worries: Hoolahan; Johnson; Garrido and perhaps most importantly of all - as I said on the trsnafer thread, either Hooper or RVW will have to adapt their game based upon the lack of a out and out striker, and today, unfortunately, it looks like Hughton is trying to turn RVW into Grant Holt 2. Such a shame, if that happens, as it certainly doesn't exploit his touch and technique. Will be a real waste.
Thought Whits and Russ were both good, likely to see both of them stay in those positions? Elliot ran a lot but nothing to suggest he should be anything other than a backup
Happy Canaries on here as usual. Considering we are missing key players, a draw isn't a bad result. I'm interested to know what happened to Snodgrass, if him, Bassong and Fer played in this game, we might have played better.
