Honestly didn't see that result thought we might snatch a draw. Team defended well just lacked going forward again. Well done Kasami.
Look at how chuffed the players are after that. I can't comment on the whole game but it looked like they worked for eachother and played solidly. The best thing? We still have players like Kaca, Bent, Ruiz and Dejagah to come in. Still room for more signings though.
...my faith in the statistics given by Sky is a little shaken after they claimed we had no shots on target. Where exactly did Kasami put the ball then? Anyways, Sunderland really lacked a cutting edge and their 3 shots on target underline that. We looked very tired at the end, which is definitely linked to the fact we had to use two substitutions on injury replacements. Good result, no question.
not a good game to watch. Taarabt was hardly present throughout but i was very happy with Kasami and he is definitely my MOTM
Briggs did well, when he first came on he was abit shaky but grew into the game, as for Taarabt there where some moments of pure ingenious hes got a great touch and close ball control, he just seem to drift in and out of the same tho,
No captain but it didn't look like he dislocated it tho as he was moving it and the physio got him to lift it above his head. Hopefully just a landed on it funny.
Lost my stream for chunks - what happened to Steckers? From what I saw Stockdale covered confidently. The 'new' boys Briggs, Kasami and Hughes did really well. Surprise, surprise Richardson only lasted 20 minutes and although he had a wee bit of a shaky start, Briggs more than kept his end up. Apart from his goal (obiously) Kasami's work rate was exceptional. Hughes was just outstanding in what I saw of the second half. We clearly had some tired legs at the end and with Richardson's sub effectively being a wasted one, the lads did well to keep Sunderland at arms length. Not that pretty but who cares - 3 pts in the bag and away at that will do nicely, thank you very much please log in to view this image
Well done to the lads... Dejagah picked up a knock during the last friendly which I am not sure if it had something to do that he was not included in the squad. Very pleased with Kasami. Showed last week that he means business!
It sounds as though Kasami has really turned things around. I know it's only been one game and it's very early days, but to go from being exiled for having a poor attitude to slogging his guts out is commendable. Long may it continue.
