I think JRod's leap for the ball affected Fosters positioning, which would mean he is offside in the new addition to the rule or whatever. Whether that is what was actually flagged for I don't know. Could of gone either way. Unfortunately didn't go for us. HT and I'm very pleased with how we are playing.
We played very well, we're clearly the better side. Shaw is full of confidence. Wanyama probably need a few games to completely set in, but plays well nontheless. JWP's delivery was ok, he puts the ball in good areas. But Lambert played somewhat poorly, haven't seen nothing from him yet. Lovren was great so far.
Well that was a decent half, despite being the better team i would still be happy with a draw. Lovren has looked solid, Wanyama has been good too. I am not noticing chambers, which is a good sign, so he has coped well! JWP has looked pretty good too, just needs that spark really. All in all a solid first half, very encouraging as i just had the feeling we would struggle today.
Pretty decent half, think we've been on top though I still get a bit nervous whenever the ball comes anywhere near our goal! Referee seems a bit of a homer, but nothing wrong with the decision to disallow that goal in my opinion. New wording of the offside rule makes it very clear that if you're offside and attempt to play the ball (as Rodriguez clearly did) the flag goes up, whether you touch it or not. Unlucky I suppose but if he hadn't jumped, it probably would have stood. Having said that I think Lambert's initial header was offside too, so no complaints really! As an aside, the yellow GK shirt is presumably to avoid a clash with the West Brom kit, which is identical. Think Ward-Prowse is doing pretty well also, don't you?
Maybe I'll have to have another look. Jay wasn't challenging him though I don't think or distracting/obscuring his vision. That's why I think the flag was for Lallana and not Rodriguez.
There will be more off sides given as there will be flags for any offside player anywhere near the goal. Really going back more to the old interpretation of the law.
Was shocked to see JWP in the 11. I'm glad he's got his chance as he vanished from the first team after about four games or so when he'd done nothing wrong and was one of our best players!
If anybody is struggling with streams, this has been excellent to date, no lag - http://nutjob.eu/njtvx11.html
Football's a game of two halfs. Very rarely will you see two identical halfs in one game. West Brom will come back into it. Very pleased with how it's sounding so far though.
At the Bournemouth game. Grabban looks a good player. Grant Holt is still a donkey. Sounds like we're doing pretty well
Think we have looked extremely good in patches. Chambers and JWP have looked quite good. A few threatening balls into the box and nothing silly defensively. Hilarious to read someone thinks JWP will be better than Luke Shaw, JWP will struggle to get a game for us this season and luke shaw will very possibly play 4 world cups for england. Away from set pieces JWP is tidy but he offers no attacking threat, he so far into his early career has not demonstrated the requistite decision making and football intelligence. Technically he is decent but so is everyone else on the pitch.
JWP and Wanyama have both been great. Lovren's pass to Rodriguez was nice, he looks pretty good so far. Chambers has been fairly solid so far, looks like he belongs. Lallana's been a little disappointing, that's the only negative for me. But he could easily turn it on second half.
We're not sure. Some reckon he wrongly flagged Lallana offside, some reckon he flagged Jay for interfering. Just seeing it now, Jay was offside when the ball was played, and jumped for the cross. Didn't get anything on it, but probably was interfering as he challenged for the ball. Lallana was onside, but that's probably not the issue.
rodriguez and lallana haven't done enough but we are looking very strong with wanyama and schneiderlin going up against a top quality midfield. Brilliant to watch but would like someone with a bit of cutting edge like gaston or puncheon to come on.
I think Lambert was offside in the first instance with his header across, but the flag didn't appear to go up for that so I'll continue! Headed ball from Lambert then went over Rodriguez's head, and he was in an offside position. Because he jumped for the ball in front of the goalkeeper he became "active" so the linesman flagged for that presumably. Lallana looked level and turned the ball in but the infringement had already occurred.
