Alright lads, the speculation continues with the rumours about Henderson and Cattermole leaving for around 28m for the pair of them but what do they offer us that makes them worth turning down that sort of money if you think that should be the case because I say take the money and run.

When I talk to the lads about us, it usually ends in the same conclusion that we aint good enough in the midfield area, we lack goals, creativity and composure and thats the difference between teams like us Villa and Everton. Benty said it didn't he when he joined Villa.

With 28m we could bring in 3 or 4 quality midfielders add to that Sessegnon and we would be looking great in the midfield.

Couldn't say no to £28m though I like them both and would prefer to keep them. I just hope Bruce is tracking players in case a big bid as such comes in.

If the market is such that those two cost that much, surely all prices will become similarly inflated?

Non-English lads from abroad will cost a lot less! The Nationality is a commodity in itself.

Then we come back to the foreign imports debate again, though, and value for money. I'm not convinced.

Sess Catts Colback Henderson sounds like a nice midfield. Add N'Zogbia (doubtful, but possible) and Larsson and you'd be set.

Meyler returns in the Winter and even better.

Like Wherewereyou says, inflated prices will be for everyone.

There is players out there pal Gyan and Sessegnon for example.

With 28m bet Brucie could pick up a few good midfielders from the continent if clubs want an arm and a leg from the prem

I'll see your Gyan and Sessegnon, and raise you a Muntari and a Da Silva. But we could go on like that all night, couldn't we?

i wouldnt sell either. Cattermole is good at passing and probably would be better if he was allowed too get foward abit more. Henderson is also a good passer however lacks the courage too make a run into the box or too shoot, IM sure if we sell them then both will be in the next England squad <laugh>

Keep them both, and build a team around them!!We need to keep our top players, play them in their rightful positions, and buy our own players...and don't loan them!!!!!

..and in current economic climate I wouldn't assume that all transfer fees from sales would be made available for purchases...

Surely we need replacements before anyone is sold! When you look at the so called top clubs, they only sell when the player is surplus to requirements, usually when they have another two players to fill that position.
I agree with Bill, we should be a buying club not a selling one!

keep them both young lads still learning the game, and if we are a buying club the 28m liverpool have offered imo means we could pay over the top for inferior players

We would be stupid to sell one of them, never mind both.Anyway we need to get players IN at the moment not out! If we took the money, where are,who are, the players to replace them and improve the team?

Personally I'd rather see both of these play starting for SAFC next season with new additions brought in alongside them. Both young, talented prospects.

I read articles all the time on here saying Cattermole is a liability, I totally disagree, when fit, for me he shows real touches of class and is a proper workhorse in midfield, one of our only real ball winners.

As for Henderson, as mentioned many times, he was played out of position for the majority of last season yet he has still attracted the interest of 'big' clubs, what does this tell you? Slag him off all you like but he's a real prospect and we should be looking to hang onto him, not cash in.

Yes 20, 25, 30 million or whatever the latest figure is being touted in the press for these players is a lot of money but for me Sunderland need to keep both of these players.

Henderson was 5th in the premier league this year for creating goal scoring chances, for me Jordan has the lot. O.K at times he struggled in the PL this season, however he is 20, the team suffered serious injuries. I'd love to see Henderson get a run on the right of midfield. As for Catts, he takes 2-3 games to get going but when he hits his stride he is fantastic, however Catts problem is one that a lot of Sunderland players have (constant injuries) he can only have played 20 games in either season. Keep them both for me. Palacios in from Spurs if they are getting rid. Think that would vastly improve us. If we can get and keep Meyler fit I honestly think he is a world beater.

I would definitely keep Henderson no matter what the price, but Catts is a different kettle of fish. I agree with those of you that say when he is fully fit he is a great player, but that is the problem, he can't hack a full season in the premier league because he is so prone to injury, add to that his disciplinery record and he is a liability to the club. We need players that can sustain a full season, not players that spend so many games out through injury or suspension.

Catts is our captain. We need our captain on the pitch, not in the physio's room or spectating in the stands and for those reasons, I would not lose any sleep if he was sold.
