If we'd have played like we did after the equaliser then we'd have walked that game. Really disappointing first half.
Felt Poleon was lively but a lot to learn, feel he needs to be back on the bench and used as an impact sub. Lee's was awful at the back, I felt uneasy every time the ball came to him. In general we lacked any creativity apart from McCormack creating his own chance. We bring Smith on and have two free kicks and three corners and not once was the ball aimed anywhere near him. In all we should be beating Sheff W at home if we want a realistic chance of top 6 Time for the board to back the manager and bring in at least two new players and if that means selling McCormack well... On today's performance we shall be screwed.
Yeah, I agree on Poleon I wanted to see him given his chance for a start, and now I've seen it I'm not sure he's quite ready yet. His talent is there, but he needs to develop his footballing brain a bit. Felt there were a few times he could have made the simple pass but was trying stamp his mark on the game so tried to go himself. The paranoia in me is a bit concerned about Ross' comments post game, reading into it I felt like he knows something. Also didn't he run towards the directors box holding his ear for his celebration?
Neiother Smith nor Diouf were effective substitutions at all. Waste of time bringing them on. Need to do a couple of really good season-long loans - concerns over the movement, passing and control abiltiies of nearly every player. If not, we may as well play our youth and bring them through with a long-term three season view, because the older heads don't offer much in terms of quality. Austin is just as bad as last season. Agree about Lees - always been worried about him. One player I was impressed with was Peltier
Yeah I know, two home games, one of which live on Sky on their free weekend, and we're only averaging 28,000. Terrible isn't it?
In all we have just been brought back down to earth after 4 points against the fancied teams, Leicester and Brighton, deep down we all expected to win this one. This was a mediocre performance from a mediocre team that played average and will finish the season in an average position the way it stands at present.
It was mediocre but a point is a point, and I guess it then depends on the expectation. I've said I think top 10 would be a good finish for us, and grabbing points out of a game where we didn't start well at all and went a goal behind will help towards that. It's certainly not a top 6 performance though, I'll give you that. The one where Wednesday would not have been able to resist that amount of pressure for 90 minutes
Essex...don't even waste your time with the ull muppet. Let them enjoy their one season in the SkyPremier only 3teams can win the title.
We never seem to able to beat teams that we should beat. Its going to be a long season if we can't bring in a decent winger and defender. We haven't been found out, we were lucky in all the games we've played. The feel good factor will soon go if we lose a few games. I was also embarrassed how 1000 wendies out sung us for some parts of the game.
I didn't think he looked that great to be honest, anyone we put on was going to look better than Green. I still can't believe how we only managed a point against such poor opposition, Sheff W are going to struggle to stay in this division
Garbage game. No movement. No width. No atmosphere. Poleon way too lightweight, back to being a sub and needs to hit the weights big time. Varney remains ****
He's pretty much the only midfielder we have who acts like a playmaker though. Murphy hasn't been bad but he needs time to grow into his role. I like Green but his passing is often wayward, and having him and Austin in the same midfield means we just struggle to retain possession or moves continually break down
