Lucas seems to be back to his best. He's been winning the ball all over the pitch.

Great first half to watch, we've been dominant; but I'm still nervouse when they attack, especially from set pieces.

Hoping that save from Mings will settle him down a bit. Great so far from Sturridge and Coutinho, and Lucas is looking good too. Hoping for more of the same in the second half.

We do have 2 new players in our back 4 which has been consistent for the last 3 years, so bound to be a bit of misunderstanding there. I thought Migs was half decent at crosses but looks shaky so far. Hopefully it's just nerves and not a sign of things to come.

Half time came at a good time, just as Stoke were starting to apply some pressure.

Overall, a good half. Created plenty of chances, just need to be more clinical infront of goal, but already Aspas is looking better in his first 45 mins than Borini did all last year. He has better movement, link up play and get's in better scoring positions <ok>

  6. Defending set-pieces is one of our weaknesses but its also one of Stokes strengths, its going to look suspect.

The bit I'm finding frustrating is Migs, one his stregths is meant to be dealing with crosses. He flapped at the the first and they nearly scored (Huth hit bar) as a result. He's not gone for any since.

And no, I'm not writing him off already <doh>

Ming is great at his punches, but you want him to take it from a corner, too many players hanging around.

Still think we need another cb. Can't see toure lastin the season. Glad we got the goal, we've been dominant and deserve to be ahead.

I'm hoping it's nerves and the fact it's Stoke's strength which is what is making Mig a bit dodgy on crosses at the moment

Migs has looked nervous but considering we are facing stoke and there main threat is from set pieces i think we have done ok.

    Studge fantastic finish.

Good pressure on the ball, high tempo and looking very good up front.

Aspas looks good, so much better than Downing

    Overall very pleased

Stoke have been **** but they still could have scored twice, I think you've played very well but you still look a bit brittle at the back

It's also getting an understanding between keeper& back 4.

    It'll all come good.

I think stoke have been alright to be honest, very defensive but so are most teams who come to Anfield.
I'm happy that we now seem to be keeping the ball around there area, boxing them in rather than passing it around our back line.

Last season we would have dominated and stoke would score on the break, so much more positive at the minute.
