I suppose there is always some silver lining to the cloud. But grateful as ever for small mercies, lets hope that the footballing benefits continue to coincide with the financial ones, eh! Unlike a certain Russian, they don't wish to squander money and the global perception of a powerful club that cannot be pushed around by some egotistic player should be very important. Wouldn't they as owners lose out (apart from Moyes credibility being totally destroyed) if the Chavs are perceived to be a bigger club globally and their support increasing as a result of getting fat Roon on board? The decision not to sell to the Chavs is a no brainer. I just hope that the glazers recognise that
The clubs stance has always been Rooney is not for sale, that won't change. If they do sell Rooney to the Chavs, I'd imagine that means the club don't think Rooney is good enough for the top level and will inadvertently weaken them like Torres did. We're in a financial position where we don't need to sell players to make money. Rooney will only be sold if its the best option for the club.
You'd think so, but then so was the decision for Liverpool to sell Torres to Chelsea, or Arsenal to sell RVP to us. Some owners are more focused on the short term money ahead of the long term success of the club. I'm just grateful our owners don't appear to be
Agreed. For me, the jury is still out on the glazers. As long as the footballing and the financial interests coincide, I have no worries. The argument for the Chavs muscling in as a global brand is there for all to see so hopefully they (the glazers) will recognise that. It is when the footballing good and the money diverge, I would have some trepidation. Will the Chavs come back with a ridiculous offer like £60-70m to get them to dump their principles?
Maureen said he was going all out to get Rooney. if fat Roon stays at United does that mean ---> Moyes 1-0 Mourinho ?
Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 49m I am told Wayne Rooney has travelled to south Wales with #MUFC ahead of opener against Swansea
Mirror Sport understands #afc chief executive Ivan Gazidis has made an approach to #mufc and Rooney's camp was also sounded out this week.
According to the chavs it would make it Moyes 1-832 Mourinho But then they've been keeping score of pretty much every word each of them have said for the past two months. You'd think they'd have better things to do with their summer...
according to some newspapers, seem now Arsenal are ready to focus their attention towards Rooney after feeling Suarez may stay in Liverpool .. don't get why Arsenal don't increase their Suarez bid? or are they hopeful to get Rooney on the cheap ? seem AW lost his touch with reality after not spending for a long period, he want to sign big stars without paying extra to tempt the clubs !! sure you need that, especially when you target players from your rivals
comn .. you can see the pattern from AW reaction to HiguaÃn deal, then Suarez and now Rooney you lost the first one for not increasing your offer, and the second one is almost lost too as instead of trying to increase Suarez offer he is switching to Rooney, that tells you how AW think .. you seen him how he operate in market before , so it is not like something new , actually HiguaÃn deal should had given you enough clue, the guy is not ready to pay more than the player value , which is crazy when he target world class players from rivals
