In all seriousness though, it's quite likely that Arsenal will sign players before this window is closed. As Wenger said, ideally you'd like to get it done earlier, but clubs are trying to hang on to their best players, so it's not surprising that the most exciting deals tend to get done at the end. This period tends to be the posturing between buyer and seller and the real intentions are revealed at the eleventh hour. I know the OP is looking for a cheap dig, but I don't think Wenger is 'dicking off' Arsenal fans at all. We made bids for Lars Bender and Suarez, but we have no control over the decision their respective clubs take in whether to sell them or not. I'll admit that I would feel more comfortable if we'd already made two or three decent signings, but I know from experience that the transfer window usually has it's best twists and turns on the last day. So I am reserving judgement until then <ok>

Yes I know, its what you do every time you don't have any valid answer straight away...try and accuse the poster of being annoyed/ranting...very predictable...must do better! <laugh>

Its comforting to know I've annoyed you though as you keep coming back here! <ok>

Sorry, but the only valid point in your post was that Spurs finished below Arsenal.

Clearly typo in the name of this thread. Surely it was meant to be Arsenal (sighing) watch?

  12. ...and it's now been a very long time since most of us on this board got sick to the gills with the constant wumming.

How he remains free to spew his bile on this board is an absolute mystery to me.

I'm not wumming or spewing anything, just offering my opinion about Arsenal's transfer window and responding to notso's rather partisan view of it. I would though, observe that you and notso appear to have a vested interest in attempting to whip up animosity, so how about we keep this friendly and discuss the topic at hand ?<ok>

We are, its a shame you can't handle the truth or the taking the mick out of it.

Keep up with your wrong accusations trying to get a bite though...it all helps!..."helps what" I hear you ask...you'll see! <ok>

Great <ok> So do you think we'll sign anybody before this window closes ? and will they be of the calibre that we need ? I can understand why we pursued Suarez for so long, he's top quality, but ultimately as has been pointed out, he is a risk and it might be a blessing in disguise that we don't get him. Apparently Falcao is looking to leave Monaco, if we're going to spend forty million on a striker, then I'd much rather we went for him, but overall I'd say a DM is our priority.

No, I don't think you'll sign anyone of note. Falcao...dream on, I think the betting odds on that for you lot are the same as Hull. <ok>

It's probably paper BS, and if he did go I'd expect somebody like Real to come in for him, but I'd hope we'd be looking at the situation with somebody like Wilian, who looks likely to leave. Anyway KO now, good to see you engaging in the debate <ok>

  20. The massive problem that Whinger now has is that teams will know he is desperate to sign players, and they will take him to the cleaners, even for average players. Anyone decent - if there are any such players left available at this late in the day - are going to cost him an absolute mint, and I don't believe he has that kind of money to spend.

Which ever way you look at it, Whinger is hanging from a very thin piece of string.
