I agree, the squad we have at the moment with no new additions, is probably 5th place. We've definitely improved the overall squad, just look at the squad players we've got rid off and we've replaced them with better 1st team players. Next year we can concentrate on bringing in 1 or 2 1st team players that can make a big difference as we have the depth of squad already made. However, if we sign Willian & Sakho as being rumoured then I think we'd be a definite challenge for 4th this year.
I totally agree that we should be concentrating our attention upon ourselves. However, from a professional standpoint I do take an interest in United from an organisational analysis standpoint. The situation is far more complex than just a change of manager. My own conclusion is that there will be many similarities to the casual observer between our demise and that which is about to overtake United but the causes will be different
We're not in top 4 yet but if we get the right players in...............Willan, Cissokho and Centre half???? (We do need a dm + backup gk too but thats not happening is it?) When we were good last season we were good and the opposition were chasing shadows. Let BR bring whom he wants and he lives/dies by this. he must be given the chance of making his own team and no excuses this year! The league is as competitive as its ever been we really need to push on this yr. That road to where we used to be is getting longer and longer and longer and longer We struggled to get Mikhi and Costa here. Lets get bk in that top 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bit of wishful thinking here, isn't it? If I had a pound for every time every year the Liverpool fans said this year is going to be United's bad year which shows their decline, I would be a millionaire. It has been forever thus for twenty years If you ' win a league at a canter' surely you have to be at the top or thereabouts again. After all it is relative and about being better than others. Unless the other 19 improve dramatically or United collapse in the same vein then the situation won't change that much. The decline of Liverpool as acknowledged by Frank earlier has been gradual but steady. There was no mistaking it when getting to the CL proved so difficult and near impossible. The inconsistency against relatively lowly placed teams is a classical sign. Anyway, the league is back on. Good luck to you all. I have enough of bloody cricket
have to sold the f'r yet? smithy... you would not... you'd have £20... this kind of exaggeration is why you are not taken seriously you never said every lfc fan but lumped us all in one.
The coming season will tell. If I had a pound for every time I've listened to to United fans claim that they will never slip for the number 1 position then I too would be very rich indeed. Fortunately the law of averages is on my side! Wake up will you. Arsenal apart the other 18 teams have taken steps to improve - whereas. Declines do come to an end - just look back at United's history. However, as you say we're all at it again thank goodness and good luck to you as well.
Yeah our squad is def better mate Im so pleased we have got rid of the likes of Spearing shelvey Downing etc We'll do very well to get top 4, we need a couple more in definitely!
If he's apologised I'm a ****ing Dutchman No doubt it'll be spun to make out that Rodgers is the re-incarnation of Shanks, a true disciplinarian I'd wait until the 2nd of September before you hold the 'victory' parade anyway chaps.....
In the last couple of years we've had a great squad, but there's no doubt that during his 11 year tenure at Goodison, that he did consistently get the absolute maximum out of the resources he had available to him. But United is a different beast, given the time I reckon he could do a great job there & be a fitting replacement for the great man, but I just can't see him being given that time & the learning curve will prove to be too steep imho. I can see him being savaged this season & the more fickle of United's fanbase turning on him, I've no doubt the Stretford end hard core would be patient, but I think their voices will be drowned out by internet & media ****hounds.
I don't get that one tbh mate. Moyes could have bought him a fortnight ago for £23.5m, he knew fine well when the clause was going to expire & yet he didn't make a move. If he wants him now it'll cost him £30m. Odd imo. You'd better hope that Levy lowers his ludicrous demands for Bale btw, as if he doesn't I can see your man being their fall back position.
Knows **** all, pretends to know more than **** all You were wrong and as suspected you can never admit your bollox, bitter bitter bollox was bollox. Live it, you were wrong yet again Tobes, that gut feeling you have is just some dodgy ham from your lidl lunch.
