Me too it was time to get back to work. The GDP was definitely taking a tumble as we drew closer to the window. Was hoping that we would not go bankrupt and that Livermore and Huddlestone was the end of it. Guess I will just have to waste more time!
Does the fact Fulham have signed Bent mean that Rodallega might become available? He is a player Bruce expressed an interest in.
If we are to bring in another striker, which I really hope we do, surely it would be someone who is a lot better than what we already have.. I dont think Rodallega is..
If we are to bring in anyone else, surely it will be a right footed winger, as we are lacking in that department.
Bruce likes him, he brought him to Wigan. The difficulty in signing 'A better striker than we currently have' is we probably need to have managed a sustained period in the PL. Although signing Huddlestone probably blows that out the water .
I maybe wrong but I don't think SB will farm him out, as basically you need a minimum of 4 strikers available, and we only have Graham/Sagbo/Prossy/Fryatt, unless he brings in another striker.
Aluko? Boyd? Granted they're attacking midfielders by trade but it's in the striking role where they played best for us last season.
It's possible. I'd think he was on Brucie's radar, but he said he's got all his top targets. Personally I think Palacios has too much to prove. Not done it for a couple of seasons now.
I know beggars can't be choosers, but he's not really the type of forward we need. We need a classy finisher. Get £5m lumped on someone...
Bendtner still without a club. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/08/14/hull-city-still-keen-on-arsenal-outcast-nicklas-bendtner/
He's got the pace and power and a fairly decent goal return (except last season at Fulham). We could do worse.
I was just wondering... If we had brought Charlie Austin in for £4.5m, would we have gone for Thudd at £5.25m? I think not. We were after Livermore on loan anyways according to Brucey, so leave that out.
Bruce said he didn't think a player like Hudd would want to come to Hull. Given how openly Bruce courted Palacios, it looks like Huddlestone is a massively successful plan B. (Plus solving his striker problem with a loan and a 1.5M outlay on Sagbo)
