Well this is a tough call. I'm gonna go with No Country For Old Men, because annoying people on Reddit incessantly quote The Big Lebowski and I fear they've ruined it for me.

I've not even noticed. I bet when I eventually watch The Big Lebowski, I'll spend most of it going "ohhhh, so THAT's where that's from!"

Ok so we have chatted about good films. But what is the worse film you have seen?

I saw State of Play (Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck) in the cinema and was bored out of my mind, I wanted to leave but didn't for some reason. There've been a few DVDs I turned off half way through - most recently, The Men Who Stare At Goats. These aren't terrible films, in the sense they're embarrassing, but they're really bad to me, personally, in that I get way too bored and frustrated to sit through them. As for hilariously bad films... the Super Mario Bros movie. It's so terrible, but I love it because it's so funny in how bad it is.

Yeah I've watched Men that stare at goats as well. **** that was bad. The worse film I probably watched was a Australian film called Postal. It was seriously ****ed up even had Mini Me(from Austin Powers) in it. He ended up getting locked up in a huge vault with 1000 monkeys that raped him.

Tron Legacy was utter ****e, and my stupid friends made me see it just because Daft Punk did the soundtrack.

That Eddie Murphy film The Haunted Mansion was pretty embarrassing.

Jack and Jill I haven't seen but you just know that's gotta be up there.

Scary Movie 4 and an anticipatory nomination for the fifth one.

Star Wars Episodes I, II and III

Just typed "worst films" into Reddit to see what other people think, and I actually saw a couple of people say The Truman Show sucked, and one person said Shaun of the Dead. I really wish I could slap these people.

I normally don't like Jim Carrey at all (Mr Popper's Penguins is probably a good candidate for worst film) but The Truman Show is one of my absolute favourites ever. I want to hunt these people down.

Easily the best thing he's ever done. Some people are just really dim I guess.

Crash, the one that won the Oscar for Best Picture. Just awful. Honestly, the worst-written, most cliched, most self-congratulatory piece of **** I have ever watched.

Can still remember the circumstances of watching it, too. Was spending a weekend at my girlfriend's, and she rented a couple movies. She wanted to watch The Vagina Monologues, and got Crash to balance it out with something she thought that I'd like.

In retrospect, I enjoyed The Vagina Monologues more. Though as far as reviews go, "this movie was so bad that my girlfriend started giving me an apologetic blowjob halfway through" would probably have increased sales.

I remember one time a bunch of friends and I decided to see a movie. We were in Washington DC, so the movie prices were outrageous. So we had the standard argument over which movie to go see. For whatever reason, one guy really, really had his heart set on "Congo." Since he felt so strongly about it, and the other 2-3 choices were a stalement anyway, we let him have his way.

When the movie let out, there were 8 of us. We had to walk to the subway/metro stop, it was about half a mile. All the way out the theater, through the parking lot, to the street no one said anything. The silence stretched on for at least five minutes. Finally, the guy just looked at us with pleading eyes and blurted out "Guys. I'm really sorry!" That's how bad ****ing Congo was.

I love Carrey in Lemony Snicket's, A Series of Unfortunate Events. The sheer controlled ham madness he can evoke borders on genius. I love how evil, and yet beguiling, he can form a character like Count Olaf. He must have been in his element.

Flightplan, with Jodie Foster and Sean Bean in it. That film is just crap.

Oddly enough, I cannot bear either Carrey or Winslet, yet Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favourite ever films.

I'm pretty selective about films that I watch these days. Not because I don't want to watch films but because I'd rather be doing, rather than sat watching. I do enough of that, as it is. Some years ago, when the first Pirates of the Caribbean film came out, I was invited along for a selected screening. I ended up walking out after 20-25 minutes and went to the bar. It wasn't because I was thirsty, I just thought the film was formulaic rubbish. I've subsequently seen the whole film and my opinion hasn't changed. I understand the rest of the Pirate films are in the same vein. I also understand that they are universally enjoyed, so its probably just me... and everyone I know, who think they are a waste of time.
