Yes, because it is shorter. I thought that was your main argument. If you think "Tigers" is very important it seems strange that no other clubs in the Premier League think that having animal names in their name is an advantage.
OK that's enough, someone please close this thread down. Peter just stop now, you have made your point over and over again and people are just trying to wind you up. You will never be able to get some on here to change their mind about things.
So? How the hell does that matter? I didn't know of the existence of this site until I joined last May. Get a grip, Pete.
Wasted.... I don't expect you to agree, but really, please don't try to belittle what I post. Hull Tigers will not sell more shirts, it will not have thousands of fans joining our Facebook page. But it will appeal to far eastern companies who will seek to invest in partnerships with the club. it may also provide the club with real opportunities for multi billion pound investors to come on board. It's not a silly name in my opinion, but it's also not the name I want the club to be known as, in the same way as Cardiff fans don't want Red shirts, but they want the money from the investors.
Not a chance in hell of getting me to change mine. All he has brought into the debate is negativity driven by pure blind sentimentality. He will never change my opinion, I will never change his, so yes lets close the thread. As is often said on the threads TWT.
I'm not trying to change their minds. They may be trying to wind me up but it's not working. The fundamental point in my favour is that "Hull Tigers" is a silly name and there's nothing to suggest money will be made from the name. On the other hand we have somebody who tries to justify the omnipotence of the Allam's by referring to their accounts and then, when pressed, he admits he has never seen them. Other people, except Mel, cannot even try to make any logical justification for the change.
So you think that far eastern companies will prioritise the name of the club when considering partnerships and investment? I am of the opinion that investors and partners will look at success on the field and numbers.
Since rangers are my second team i just cant believe that mcgregor and aluko who played this game (aluko scoring a stunning solo goal) are starting for us in the premier league! happppy
I think this is the rational behind Assen Allams thinking. The PL puts the club in the global market and to that end the marketing men will push for change. I still believe that Hull City The Tigers is better. "The Tigers" is stronger than "Tigers".
