I take the piss out of them for living on past glories, they have still to make a big leap to get back up with the likes of the Mancs and Chelski. Every foreign footballer plying their trade worldwide is looking for their next big pay day or chance of honours. Who can blame them. The days of footballers being one team players are long gone.(Unless they are **** and have to stay in one place.) The days of players staying put for the love of their team are a thing of the past. Who can blame them? I don't like it but I do understand it. PS. One of the only big name players of recent years to show any loyalty was a certain Steven Gerrard! Remind me who he plays for?
He shouldn't sign a contract to play for them for however many years then. He was quite happy to take their money for said contract and should honour it. I have already said I understand why he wants a move and also I don't agree with it. Money and glory is all modern day footballers want. Saying that I for one am glad a club has the balls to stand up to the greedy bastards.
