People were questioning it, but we were lied to with them saying the actual name change wasn't happening.

 

You're right, but for what it's worth I really don't think anyone apart from the Allams knew it was happening, and since they never denied it I don't think we were lied to as such. More that the club's employees were kept in the dark over it.

There's been nothing different said now to what was said then (when it was being questioned at the back end of the season). All that's changed is the spin being put on it.

 

I dont get why people are so attached to History and tradition in an area where there is only ever constant change and evolution .
Speaking specifically about Football.

clubs change , their badge designs , include sponsors , change sponsors , kit manufacturers , kit designs , players n managers come and go
Stadiums likewise , the footballs have changed , we get new rules once in a while , pitch specifications , clubs also change their name .

This is all in the past its all history , it only becomes a long history if the club is around to age .

I estimate that around a third of the clubs of the 92 arn't the same name as they were in their conception -
If this conversation was taking place in 1913 would it be OK ? the club would only be a few yrs old
Thats still nearly ten years of history ,
We cant ever get emotionally attached to the Kits either they rarely have a two season life these days
