We ARE similar in background; last week they told me that Watford is the team that Reading has MOST times faced throughout our entire history. Given that, it's better to have cordial relations, looks like it'll be many times in the future yet too! (hopefully in the Premier, guys!!)

You'll have to stop constantly pinching our best players then - George Harris, Brynjar Gunnarsson and Aidy Mariappa were all just too much to bear. ;)

I have a lucky brand of Bordeaux that works a treat, except if I start on it at 4.00pm my time, by 6.00pm the bottle looks very poorly and Mme wonders if I am safe having downed it all in two hours. Her comments are less noticed for evening games. ;)

In case you wonder, I was on holiday for the play off final and couldn't get my hands on a bottle.

also, to be dead truthful, I was rather uncomfortable at the time about the whole Brendan Rodgers episode too ... but look at the moves he's made since ...

First half beer for luck; second half beer to calm the nerves or, on good days, to celebrate...

We could have done without getting Trevor Senior from them.

The best game I didn't see against Reading was at the Vic in the early stages of the league cup in the 70s. We won 5-0 but I don't think I saw any of the goals because the fog was so thick.

Yep, real name De'Ath, came over with French ancestors, but nobody wrote his name right so in the end he just gave up and let people spell it Death. Several times RFC player of the season, poor fellow passed away a few years ago ...

Actually on checking it is Death - and worse he's dead - died of cancer apparently.

Hope that any of the Reading fans at the game felt that their price of admission was worthwhile. From all I heard and read it was a great advert for the Championship.

Before my time, but George Harris was at the game today doing some kind of half time draw. What's the name of the Reading announcer, Monotone Mike?

Sounds like he was a bit of a legend for both clubs then. <ok>

He was a hero of mine - a goal scoring winger who averaged a goal every three games, mainly thanks to his ability to soar and head a ball at the far post - we shared birthdays too. :) I don't mind admitting to shedding a tear when he suddenly left for Reading...
