"Tickets are available ONLY to season ticket holders and members on an unlimited basis and are subject to availability. In addition the “A and B policy” applies. When purchasing any “A” grade match ticket, a “B” grade match ticket much be purchased at the same time. So when you purchase CPFC v Tottenham, you must also purchase a ticket for at least one of the following matches:- CPFC v Sunderland, CPFC v Swansea, CPFC v Fulham or CPFC v Everton." You can only get a ticket for a category A match if you also buy a ticket for a category B match. I don't agree with this system. I know a friend who is coming over for two or three matches and he can only make one home match - should he have to buy two tickets?
Wasn't it Palace that came out with the strictest ( and most ridiculous) protocol for buying a ticket for the Brighton game? Sound like a right set of silly bastards if you ask me.
Yep. Well, they were forced to by the police. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...l-Palace-play-semi-final-ticket-measures.html
I think its a good idea, keep the glory supports who only want to see the big teams away. Most other supporters would buy both tickets anyway
Most fans of the teams promoted are season ticket holders anyway so the rest of the tickets usually only go to people who can get to a few matches. It just seems to be another way of driving people away from football.
Providing its not you must go to X game, I dont see the problem. If you get an option to choose one of the "b" categorised teams then most should be able to take at least one of them. Admittedly it will piss off certain supporters.
It would be difficult for people who couldn't plan too far in advance and some people may not be able to afford two tickets at the same time. Do you believe that only committed fans should be allowed to go to football matches? I had a season ticket for City when I lived in Hull but I lived near Craven Park and sometimes would go to see Rovers play on a night. I wouldn't have bothered if I had to buy tickets for two matches. I suppose if you were a Rovers fan you would say you wouldn't want me to attend.
They are a set of silly bastards though. Seriously though I can see why they're doing this. You'll never please everyone when demand exceeds supply.
They'd buy a membership*, then plan trips to 2 home games that could be weeks or even months apart. (it's what I'd do as a Scottish based fan) Unless we know the details of the membership scheme it's hard to say whether that part of it is harsh. I'm assuming the membership is a relatively cheap thing like that one we had last time round. Although if I remember correctly rather than saying they had to be bought in pairs our memberships guaranteed you got tickets (which you had to pay for on top) for home games against Man U or Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, x amount of from the games against expected midtable sides and something similar against the expected relegation fodder. Did we have one in the Championship as well when we increased our prices? I seem to remember a £5 one off payment that then let you buy tickets for less than the general sale price, meaning the increase was really only for one ticket (as the members price was the same as the old ticket price).
