Afternoon all - Tesco has been done and the supplies stashed away. I have the pleasant task of designing the Village Fete programme this afternoon and then off to my local to have a few ciders with my golf playing mates - today is the golf day in memory of a dear mate of ours who passed away in 2006 after suffering for far too long from the foul MND. So every year there is golf day in his memory...so a chance to think back to all the good days we had with him. Thing is he was a totally useless golfer and only a slightly better footballer, but he lived and breathed sport - why do the good ones go so early?

Good catch Yorkie - I have signed as well.

Perhaps it's worth a seperate thread of it's own so that people just dropping onto the Watford board see it straight away?

    Afternoon All,

Still bearing up under intense pressure. Temperature 32C outside, thank goodness for thick stone walls that even things out a bit. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Little ones off to the swimming pool this afternoon; that seems a great idea. However another trip to the supermarket seems to be awaiting me as supplies are running low. Last of the beers have gone from the fridge. I cannot believe that I have drunk them all. <yikes>

Added my name to the petition. Total disgrace.<grr>

    Afternoon all,

Been away on holiday in the Forest of Dean for a while, and I come back to find out I have missed an insanely crazy week in Watford!!

Co-op bank siege, Danny Graham to Swansea for a value that many consider to be too little. But, worst of all, my parent's car was stolen! My dad was just collecting something from the living-room before leaving to do some DIY at my brothers, and heard some commotion out the front. Opened the front door to see his car wheel-spinning out of the drive and speeding off down the road!! My brother got in his car to see if he could spot it, and saw it waiting at some traffic lights. He followed it as it was driven down a narrow dead-end road, wide enough to fit just one car. In the hope it would scare the thieves away, he sounded the horn. They quickly spun the car around, smashed it up the kerb on to the pavement, scraping both sides of the car along a wall and lamp-post, knocking off a wing mirror and speeding away.

The police were called out virtually as the car left the drive, and a helicopter was dispatched. Yet, yesterday, my parents received a letter from Hertfordshire Constabulary advising they would be fined for doing 50mph in a 30mph zone!

The worst thing about this is my dad is so passionate about his cars. He spends so much time ensuring they are immaculately clean and healthy. I can't imagine how it felt to see it wheel-spinning away, and smashing down the drive.

It hasn't all been bad news though, Past and Present Woods down St Albans Road is closing down, so I got £600 worth of furniture for £270!!

Well for a neutral that England game would have been quite good!
Nice to see Ashley increase his fee! Why didnt he start?
What was our defence thinking (or not as the case maybe) on those 2 freekicks?
Capello has been so found out , yet were stuck with him thanks to those idiots in the FA!
I note the real Sri lanka have belatedly shown up in the cricket!
The danny saga ,dont get me started<grr>

On a good note England Saxons played well in the rugby against the USA!

England Saxons put over 80 points on them!

Yeah really good to see Young playing well for England :) But sheesh - what was Hart thinking for the 2nd goal - awful. Bent should have buried that one. Shame. Can never make it easy eh
