You are one arrogant person. No wonder you fit in well in poitics. Fiery, I do have sympathy with people prepared to put in all hours god sends on minimum to earn a living. But unfortunately with the way of the world not everyone can earn the same. But I have every admiration for somebody prepared to work their balls off.
Right, so why does a police officer appointed to a political position like Police Commissioner deserve £150k a year?
Not sure about £150k a year, but would rather appoint someone with experience in the police force to do the job over some politician that hasn't a clue. After all the title is POLICE commissioner. Would you put someone on the NHS as a head of the police force, no? so why put a politician?
It is a political post. Most senior police officers are fast-tracked through without ever serving on the front line, do they deserve to be paid much more?
The new posts of commisioners in each area are not police officers most are political figures put forward by their respective parties Hence Alun Michaels being the commissioner for SWP. These positions were unwarrented and un needed just another Political positions to allow government a bigger say in how the CC run their respective forces.

agree with you there, its a disgrace that its not possible to live off the minimum wage, you have to get your wages topped up with working tax credits (a subsidy to big businesses), the minimum wage should be higher so people can stand on their own 2 feet. as for doctors, there are good doctors and bad doctors, the state of healthcare in this country is pretty darn awful, and our doctors are paid the highest in europe, policeman on the beat deserve every penny they earn, though as i said before, i know one senior one who took retirement at 50, nice work if you can get it....
