A game which lacks technique in every way, I have seen DR of Congo show better technique than these English players. Terrible game and there has never been a question over technique as La Liga wins hands down in terms of technique. The question is about how the PL is more competitive and to be fair the PL is more competitive.
Yes but the competetiveness is amongst poorer players who lack the technique and skill.Just because your more competetive it doesnt make you better.More exciting league yes a better league footballing wise?no.
Funny, English teams have out performed every Spanish side in the Champions League in recent seasons (bar Barcelona) but yeah La Liga is better Also there were more players from the Premiership at the World Cup than from any other league.
This season Spurs got thumped by Real twice (a result we could not produce against spurs)..then barca beat arsenal and united like they were facing a mid table team in LaLiga.Again we struggled against Valencia TWICE...so on this seasons evidence it shows that LaLiga is a better league.
We struggled against Valencia by beating them and drawing when the game met nothing. So Real Madrid beat a Tottenham team who had never played in the Champions League before and had to play most of the 1st leg with 10 men, wow. Arsenal came very close to beating Barcelona and would have done if it wasn't for Bendtner being utterly ****. Almost the entire Spanish Team play for Barcelona, that sums up how uncompetitive Spanish fooball is.
I really don't get this whole " the technique in Spain is so much better" idea... The whole footballing culture is different from country to country. In any case, the Italian League is just as good technically. But emphasis is placed further on defence and tactics. Take Barca out of the equation, because they don't account for the whole leaue. They are a one-off team. Fair enough, the likes of Villareal, Athletico and Valencia play pretty football. But below them they are literally as scrappy as over here. People need to stop using Barca as the mark of the overall standard of football in Spain. The teams below them try to imitate Barca but fail miserably. Porto played Villareal off the park twice just a month ago. And looked superior in technique whilst doing it. Even Jermaine Pennant didn't look out of place at Zaragoza for pete's sake. Yes Barca have better technique than anyone in world football, but the teams below them are nothing like them... Why else can only a handful of other players (not in the top 4-5) even get into the Spanish World Cup squad? If you tried watching a game of Hercules versus Tenerife you would realise the great technique is not shared amongst all the Spanish teams at all. The Spanish culture is a "passing Football" culture, It is played at testimonial pace for the most part... I'm not saying The PL is better.. It's impossible to determine which is better... The criterias and variables are endless. The bottom line is: you could swap the whole Villareal squad for the whole Fiorentina squad...And Fiorentina wouldn't look any less technically gifted than the other Spanish teams. The Spanish league overall is no more tecnical than the Italian. People suddenly believe that Everything Spanish football is pure technique - Mainly because of the unbelievable (unmatched) technique of Barca and Spain (barca II)
People see the big fancy names, the sunshine and the glamour and automatically think La Liga is better, fools. Barcelona's C team won 3 1 away at the 9th placed team in La Liga ffs, so uncompetitive it's untrue!
