5mil for shelvey... 5... the rest is dependant on performance and can't be spent now. Honestly... if someone said 20 for both downing and carrol i would have been slightly disappointed but hey.. only but 3-4 mil really. If we do end up buying willian and those are the 6 then no question i would have said (like i said when kenny got 7) that we could do no more. I would have to say i'd be slightly happier in that i don't "not want" any of his signings. Aspas looks ok, wants to try things but he's not great. willian would fit perfectly... in the end what can you do but improve. I think overall we chould be better this season's start than last seasons and should be closer to the to p4 from the off so if we do get a giid run going after chirstmas we'l lsee where it leads to. our run last seaosn was 7th to 7th.... we were so far off the form counted for little.
I only mentioned 7 cause it said 7 on SSN, where it says at the right hand side players we've bought and sold, it said Shelvey £7.5m.
I think Aspas has better than ok in our pre-season games. He's a wide player but has more to his game in terms of link up to Downing and is also much more of a goal threat. When then balls on the opposite side he get's himself into the middle. 2 of his goals were inside the 6 yard box tap ins which is something we lacked last year, but now we'll have Sturridge & Aspas getting into the middle to put them away. Also has clever movement as shown with one of his goals where he went near post, then held back then darted in again to lose the defender.
Voronin was a world beater in al games. remember his goal in the CL qualifier Sold too soon in my opionion.
What concerned me about Aspas was his composure when he had a one on one or a clear chance in the box. Some lovely skill though - particularly the chip off the bar before Alberto's finish v Valerenga.
I agree - he's missed a few decent chances which he should have scored but he's getting into great positions and looks to be a player who can create something out of nothing.
From when the article was one of the top stories. Now it's replaced by Bent and Parker moves. The BBC only keep bad news for LFC bumped to the top.
Liverpool have unsurprisingly been backed into evens favourites to sign Willian, with Manchester United 2/1, Manchester City 6/1 and Tottenham 8/1. by @SkyTimClement 12:00 PM
i'd like to see him actually as a wide man, we've used him up top mostly thus far. i think rw is for him
Valencia apparently in 400m of debt so they wanted permanent deal with Cissokho. Cheeky bid for Benega?
They might be in debt but still managed to rip spurs off with £27mil for Soldado. Benega is a top player and Feghouli would also be a good signing for us, I thought there would be more interest in theese two from the prem clubs.
Player issues Liverpool plea Liverpool FC target Willian is desperate to join the Reds and end his Russian misery. The attacking midfielder has been left high and dry at super-rich club Anzhi, where billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov dramatically pulled the plug on his investment and ordered his big-name signings to be shipped out. Willian only arrived at the club in January in a massive £30m transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk, but is desperately searching for a new club in what is a pivotal year for the 25-year-old with a World Cup looming in his home country. Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in the midfielder. The Reds are weighing up a move, and the former Corinthians playmaker has admitted he is praying for some good news. “There are conversations, and I am hoping in the next few days for an offer from a club like Liverpool,” he admitted. “If it is Liverpool, then they are a great club. The news came as a real shock, but I’m calm about it and hoping for the best, because I’ve been told they will help the players to go, if they get a good offer. “The players have been told in six months' time the club will move back to Makhachkala, they will bring in more Russian players and the foreign players can go, if they get the right offers. “It’s not true that we will be allowed to leave for nothing. But the owner has said if he gets an offer close to what he paid for the players, then they can go. So I am hoping there will be something from Liverpool, because England has a league that I’ve dreamed of playing in.”
