you don't want to upset Bolton:
Dougie can shut his mouth and have a look at this article from November 2012 as the source of their problems. Bolton Wanderers debt figure rises to £136.5m http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20310338 What a mug!!
'Tis always the way...look to outside matters and blame those rather than looking inwards at there own problems, plus it makes a better news story to have a swipe at others......
You'll remember a few years ago Gartside was proposing the PL became a 'closed shop', solely for Bolton's benefit...
he should of stayed at palace, then he could spend 20m, and be in a total different position, about 12 years ago alan curbs slagged off ffc for our spending, he then went to west ham and under the icelandics spent loads, double standards
Whilst i think that the amount of money clubs spend is ridiculous, my problem with FFP is that it ensures that the big clubs stay big and enshirnes that they are allowed to have the biggest budgets and thus attract players with bigger salaries.
Heard a bloke on the radio this morning slagging off arsenal Wenger for insisting he be the highest paid person at the club and players shouldn't earn more than him!! In what other career or walk of life do the workers earn more than their bosses? Poor old they, he went on to say, had to struggle for a whole to get his 100k a week deal?! Football is in a fantasy world all of its own. It makes me wonder how they manage to turn ordinary bright articulate people(the fans), into fools so easily. When is the revolution going to come. How can we sit there watching what is mostly poor football, as so easily accept these players should be worth 4 time the average annual salary per WEEK...... the top players in the Prem should be earning 10k-15k max a week, and even that seems a ridiculous amount when I read it back!! Tickets should be 10 a game tops, 5 for kids. Sky sports should be free with your sky subscription, and they pay a lot less for the contract to show games. Replica kits should be 30 max for the lot(shirt, shorts and socks). Food and drink in stadiums should be supermarket prices. It's all gone too far now, beyond a joke, and our game is becoming unrecognisable from the one we remember as kids, it is standing in its own grave!! The money and cost is so huge, you can see and smell the fear emanating from the players, should they even make the tiniest mistake! That's why we see less and less entertainment. When was the last time we saw any player play with a smile on their face. Playing for the sheer joy of it? When was the last time we saw players try tricks, take people on, fun stuff? In in friendlies, it's too serious! It's what I witnessed at Wembley on Wednesday, the confidence to try something different, run at players, even shoot from outside the box, just wasn't there. Because they knew if it didn't work they'd be slaughtered for it by the fans, press and pundits. Take the money away, bring back the fun, that's why we play and watch this beautiful games and why we're so far behind other countries now......
Wow....good post in general supermack......just a little hard to read at times, a few paragraphs wouldn't have gone a miss......
Try tricks, beat people and entertain you say? Taraabt on each of his appearances but we got rid of him! In general agree with the rest it's ridiculous!
The above was my sons first ever post! He's 2 in September yet seems to make more sense than me!! The only thing I have to contribute to this thread is I did Dougies wedding in the early 2000's, married Ray Clemmence's daughter as I recall!
