A mention for Mean Streets,Jackie Brown and Sleepers although Cape Fear wasn't bad it never touched the original.
I must admit that whilst it wasn't De Niro's best acting performance I really love Bronx Tale. Cracking film and he directed it..
I agree only saw it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it,more so 'cos I didn't remember the ending.Didn't he go through a period appearing in anything just to fiance his own films and Bronx Tale being one of them?
He did indeed. The thing i like most about that film is the bloke who always loses when he bets - they're at the race course and the horse is bolting up - he runs down the stairs cheering it on so they all rip their tickets up and he gets caught on the line. Every bookies I've ever been into has a customer like that
There's a bloke in my bookies and when I see him all I'm thinking is 'don't talk to me,don't talk to me',mockers written all over your bets once he starts advising you.
Canny agree with ye on Cape Fear. While DeNiro was excellent in the part the movie was completely and utterly ruined by the dumbass ending. Him and Nick Nolte were smashing rocks over each others heids FFS. People in the cinema were laughing at that bit, including me.
Fantastic movie, and DeNiro was good in it, but nowehere near the performance he gave in Raging Bull.
Aye. Only I heard he was doing anything he was offered to finance his divorce. Dunno if it's true. Or even if he ever got divorced.
