I'm really not that bothered. Makes a career for a Translator. The truth is, the last parts of language people learn is the technical and detail, and Poch is cautious and thoughtful enough to realise that his answers must be carefully translated in order to be understood. Something that he feels he doesn't have the capacity to achieve yet. Now when you look at it that way, doesn't that make you think better of him..?

As to technical details in the English language, pick any technical subject you know nothing about and then try to describe, in detail, the concepts and patterns belonging to that subject. And you know the language. The barrier is the subject detail. Poch doesn't know the detail of the language to adequately transmit his thoughts of his well known [to him] technical subject to the World outside of St Marys.

Off the bench maybe, somewhere around 67 minutes would seem like a good tactic. Keeps him eager. :)

Four Saints fans interviewed briefly on Sky...all thought top ten and a couple possibly top six. Let's hope we start strongly tomorrow. I see no reason we shouldn't win/draw tomorrow. Some fans look back at least season where WBA were our bogey team...it was an issue raised at the presser...but as Mauricio said, it's another season. I think we will do better against teams that could be considered our rivals, but may not get the fantastic wins against top sides (they will have wised up). Each game is still worth 3 points, but it could be argued that points against teams like Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham will be a better predictor of the final league position.

This. Aren't we asking for trouble if we rush him back with early knee issues?

Said on Sky that Clyne and Shaw struggling (as we know), but then added that Shaw was the most likely to recover in time. WBA have no problems (damn their eyes) :)

West Brom without Lukaku are still a strong team but they're going to have to adapt to his absence. Hopefully we can catch them out before they have done that. Most likely result to me is a draw though.

Graham Taylor (analysing on Sky) thinks it could be a draw. Considered it was a fairly even game with both playing a similar system. Mentioned that Lambert makes room for other players to score. Also added that he hoped Rickie would get another chance with England. They had Chambers and Fox playing RB and LB, respectively. I suspect they might be right...don't think we should risk either Clyne of Shaw first game of the season unless fully recovered (which must be unlikely).

I'd take a draw tomorrow. I go for "don't lose your first game", especially when it's away to a side we had problems with last season.

I can see this being the starting 11 unless Clyne is fit enough to start. I hope Cork has the right attitude and keeps his chin up. He has done very little wrong to get dropped, ousted by a newcomer who we've paid big bucks for. Let's see how much more he adds.

Must admit, I'm not at all confident about this one. Even without Lukaku, West Brom's counter-attacking 4-3-3 is exactly the sort of setup that we've had difficulty handling, and if they score first we could be in trouble. Hence my pick of a 3-1 Baggies win in the prediction league.

Worth noting though that during last season, the best predictor of an unusually good Saints performance was that I'd made a pre-game statement expressing a lack of confidence.
