I just posted almost exactly the same thing on the Granero thread. Also liked the fact that he drove a beat up mini rather than a ****ing Bentley.

Or a very long loan and a bit of bad grammar.

The Fail has Spurs putting a price tag of £8m on Townsend. Probably false but well within bounds of possibility when Levy is involved. I think thats a fair price for Townsend, Parker and Defoe in total.

Good business for Hull getting Huddlestone and Livermore. Oops, sorry, The Tigers.

£5.25M for Huddlestone, and a £3M clause in the Livermore loan for if we stay up. So is Townsend worth the same as those two combined?

TBH Ric, no, probably about the same as Livermore, Townsend is a bit one dimensional at the moment and towards the end of last season the full backs had worked him out, mind it didn't help that Harold played him on the right hand side although he is predominatley left footed.......

Good business by Hull to get those 2 lads, how did you get Levy to agree to that?

Livermore and Huddlestone would've been better for us than Parker and Townsend, good bit of business there by Bruce...

No idea, being 23 and 26 year old England internationals (I didn't think Livermore was either, but apparently this time last year he was) though I suspect we appealed to the players ahead of the World Cup as well. Huddlestone is probably just a fresh start, although how we got him and Sunderland didn't I don't know. Livermore I thought was just going to be a loan and then go back with PL experience for them, but he revealed in an interview that the agreement has already been made for if we stay up. £3M as an option on a player with 2 years left at Spurs next summer is a great deal though. Either he fails and we don't pay it, or he succeeds and we get a 24 year old PL proven midfielder with England ambitions for £3M. The more I think about it the more I reckon Bruce must have compromising pictures of Levy or something.

Whatever it is, you should be using our deals as your "How can you want £8M for Townsend, you've just agreed £3M for Livermore" negotiating point.
