Why does it not surprise me that you did an audit of "The British Petroleum Company Limited" and the key insight that you delivered was that most people look for it under B. Money well spent.
I'm deluded? I've never said that everybody is against the name change but you keep making out I am saying that and then arguing against it. You are an idiot. I see you have not made many posts so I assume you are a troll. Enjoy your simple pleasures.
It's funny that...when people actually use rational logical reasoning with you.... you then resort to petty comments about basic english or grammer then when all else fails, accuse them of being a troll. Petty-minded springs to mind. Most people look for that under P. I'll save you the research funds.
It all seems to be a decision based on a possibility of financial gain through re-branding verses a stand against based on pure sentimentality. I'm for the financial gain which will be required to take the club forward.
Sorry John, but the use of reason and logic is frowned upon, and if you continue in this manner you will have to be reported as a troll.
I can see the front cover of the HDM now. "Villiagers protest at unsightly gates" HDM photographer: "Now can you all look really glum please.... Smashing...super...and one more"
Only there has been no evidence produced or argued as to how this possible financial gain will come about. The owner's stance appears to be based on his dislikes for the word City. He also appears to believe quite strongly that because Pepsi Cola & Coca cola have short names then we too will be a successful product if we shorten our name. Based on this argument he then produces a name that is longer than the one he wants to change it from. These weak, unfounded arguments along with his petulant "I pay the bills" attitude & them feeding mis-truths & misleading the supporters, for me, makes it appear a petulant swipe at the council. If they've genuinely done their homework then let us know how they intend to achieve financial success through a name change. I'd challenge that continued success on the pitch would produce the financial gain they desire whether the name is Hull City AFC or Hull City Tigers.
For goodness sake all this petty arguing. Everyone has their own opinion so why not just read what others have to say, if you have to reply just put your opinion across without name calling etc. Accept that not everyone is going to agree and leave it at that. In my opinion Mr Allam means well but he just doesn't understand that Football isn't just another business. A name change is not going to create more wealth or investment. Unfortunately he does come across as someone who just wants his own way. His club, his money so he does what he likes. I think it is a lot to do with his hatred of Hull City Council and if he could get away with it he would drop the Hull bit altogether and name us Allam United just to reinforce the point that it is his club lock stock and barrel.
Bit rich from a member who has posted over 50% of his total posts on renaming discussion threads. Just saying
All of these arguments are redundant; it is all about AA venting his considerable spleen against the council and using our name and heritage as cannon-fodder. It is cynical and it will be proven to be a worthless tactic in the fullness of time . . . . .
