A Saints and Roma fan in Italy was saying the pressure out there is insane, and that there's quite a few bad eggs in the dressing room. Seems to feel Osvaldo gets a rough ride but has agitated people. Seemed fine before he went to Roma.
Lazio is at least openly a bunch of disgusting ****s. Roma's American ownership is trying to turn them into a fashionable club in the US, which is going to go swimmingly right up until some commentator explains that the stadium is empty because Roma's ultras started chanting racist things, or the camera doesn't cut away in time to miss a near-riot in the stands.
Is this Ozzy bloke a bit of a prima donna? Neg vibes in the dressing room? Is he the right type of mush for the Saints love in?
My Italian is rusty, but I think that means "piece of ****" Did the Roma chairman spray that... or Cortese?
IF we sign Osvaldo: Am I alone in thinking Lambert won't be as effective behind a striker? From a technical point of view, he certainly has the passing vision and range to play there, however: 1. The role requires an ability to find space in between the midfield and defence through clever movement. I don't think he has the pace or agility to do this as well as Lallana and Ramirez can. 2. This role also requires an ability to run into this space at players, often taking them on, something Rickie won't be comfortable doing. 3. Pochettino's 4-2-3-1 requires the wide players to support, and often run past the lone striker. They provide the main attacking support, so that when we aren't a 4-2-3-1, we're more often a 4-3-3 than a 4-4-2. With this in mind, we'd probably see less of Rickie in the box where he's most effective, whether that means providing knock downs, or scoring. 4. MP will want him to press more if he's in that role (Think about how well Gaston and Davis did it), and as fit at he's looking right now, we all know that ain't Rickie's bag. I'm struggling to think of a player in the modern game with Lambert's physical attributes, who can and does play behind a striker. If Osvaldo signs it'll be intriguing to see how MP handles it.
That's pretty tame by Italian ultra standards. Been known to go mob handed to players houses in some cases
He needs to come to the love-in at St Marys. Greatest danger here is being suffocated by an over enthusiastic cuddle.
I think maybe there is confusion on his role at Roma. Totti plays the lambert role with Osvaldo and Lamela coming in from either flank in support. So I think although Osvaldo (and J Rod) give us another option if Lambert is injured or off form, I think you will find that if Osvaldo signs and if he is selected to play, it will be in place of Ads or J Rod
Osvaldo could feasibly just about feature out wide, but to have JRod and Osvaldo on opposite wings would give us almost no width, we'd be entirely relying on Shaw and Clyne. I think to try and squeeze Lambert, Rodriguez and Osvaldo into a 4-2-3-1 would weaken us in some respect(s), regardless of how you shifted them around.
Well, every single time I've seen him play, it's with Lamela and Totti in support of Osvaldo at centre forward. They're pretty fluid, but he 100% plays more of the Lambert role than the Lallana role..!
Tancredi again - Southampton have given a tomorrow deadline to Roma's Osvaldo to accept their offer, according to Sky Italy
