As it stands, bring your boots to the Ems on Saturday, you may be required to step in as I don't think we'll be able to field a full 11 OR bench.
Injury news. Vermaelen out (we knew that) Monreal out (knew that too) Ramsey is now apparently doubtful for the game Sagna is a major doubt Arteta is now apparently doubtful Theo is now apparently doubtful Cazorla is doubtful Jack is now a doubt Do we actually have any fit players?
The doubts over who's fit to play tomorrow shows how THIN this squad is, if both Ramsey and Arteta are not fit, then what? This shows how SILLY it is for so many apologists on here going on about late transfers, how the **** is a late transfer going to help our lack of squad depth for the upcoming games? The incompetence is pathetic.
If all those injured players miss the game, our team would look like this Fabianski Jenkinson Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs Zelalem Rosicky Gnabry Chamberlain Podolski Giroud
What kind of club that has aspirations for challenging for the title as Wenger says, goes into a season with only 2 fit CB's? And I swear to God, PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO ****ING HERE ANYONE BRING UP SAGNA. Is that the solution? A makeshift CB? That's our great depth to CB, play a right back out of position? And based on what? 1 good game against Sunderland and a couple of pre-season friendlies, and now all of a sudden people are happy to call Sagna a CB back up? You apologists are really on overdrive with your spin jobs now, seriously, you only get this at Arsenal now a days, 2 fit CB's, but hey, that's not a problem, we have a right back with tiny experience at CB who can fill in, YAYYYYYYYYYY.
Why do you always try to provoke a fight with other posters on here when there is no need? You cannot seem to make a sentence without going on about apologists or AWKB's as if it is they that make the decisions for the club. FFS stop being such a little bitch. Post away to your hearts content, but stop trying to start wars among the fans. Thank you.
A87's right though. Numerous WKB posters have been saying "oh, we'll sign someone later in the window." With the current injury crisis, we should have signed someone by now, or else we'll be forced to start a 16 year old with no PL experience. It's all well and good waiting, but the longer the wait, the less talent available, and the higher the price
We have 5 games in 15 days. A difficult and physical trip to Turkey in our second game will be one to watch out for as the big NLD is on the 1 September at home, so bubble wrap maybe in order!
Will we have enough players for the bench? Maybe a few of us fans could step in and make up the numbers.
I totally accept he is right about the team being more emaciated than a hungry Ethiopian, but does he really need to keep dropping in the same old **** about apologists in the hopes of getting some mug like me to bite? It's uncalled for and gets my goat (sorry Oxo).
If you go to phisioroom http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Sagna, Ramsey, Arteta, Walcott, and Rosicky are all listed to be available on the 17th.
I imagine that the team will start as: Podolski - Giroud - Walcott Arteta - Wilshere - Ramsey Gibbs - Koscielney - Metersacker - Sagna Szczney Bench might be - Jenkinson, Cazorla, Rosicky, Fabianski, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanogo, +1. The only place we don't really have cover is at left back, so we may see Bellerin come into the frame. It doesn't seem too weak of a team. Certainly they ought to be able to do a decent job against Aston Villa.
Let's say that all of them will be available and we get to field a close to full stregth team for Villa, how does that make the criticism of the club's risk-taking in the transfer window any less relevant? Does good fortune (if the "knocks" aren't serious) count towards the club actually being prepared for the start of the season?
