Personally I don't think Balotelli is good enough to justify the hassle he brings so I probably would turn him down. That's not too relevant to Osvaldo though. He may or may not be worth the bother and I'll trust Poch on that as he's worked with him before. Balotelli is also an example of a player who kept being picked for Italy despite the fact he played over here and wasn't first choice at his club.
I felt better about Banega than Osvaldo. But having said that, Saints have to take risks to improve. We're trying to sign players to match our ambition rather than our current level. The players we get are going to have some sort of flaw, else they wouldn't sign for us. We're looking for talent/potential. Lovren was coming off a bad year, Wanyama needs to prove himself playing against higher competition on a regular basis, Banega and Osvaldo have perceived personality issues.
No I haven't. He's had a very good 6 months I believe but he was over here for 2 and a half seasons and he wasn't all that great. I think that's probably a fairer reflection of what he'd be like in English football. It'll also take more than a few months of performances for him to reach genius territory. Saganowski had a great first 6 months for usâ¦
No I wouldn't, part of me would like to say oh yes I would, but basically I want to see top talent at this club if we are going to compete to the level that Cortese is talking about. Christ Balotelli was a headache though wasn't he, and I'm guessing was missing home.
Latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Sky Italia journalist: http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calc...still-in-race/ Says Wolfsburg and Spurs are still sniffing around him, but we remain confident. Osvaldo meeting his reps tonight to discuss his next move.
Another club haven't had a bid accepted yet, and no one has come out and said they own one of his testicles. This one ein't over yet.
I took AL.'s post of "nobody else has had a bid accepted etc" to be "Things are looking good" rather than a joke about how something else always gets in the way - my bad.
Tancredi posting again - Southampton's target Osvaldo targeted again by abuses by Roma fans, who wrote on sidewalk in front of his house 'Osvaldo piece of s...' Osvaldo's gf replied on twitter attacking the fans who abused, and then posting a pic where she gave the middle finger Considering that Osvaldo still not wanting Southampton, comes to mind wiretap where Roma mgmt 'welcomed' fans abuses to put pressure on him TAKE THAT DTLW!!!!
That's one city in which I've never been able to pick a side. Both Roma and Lazio have disgusting fans.
Yeah, but that was two years ago so won't be what inspired this recent hatred. I think the Coppa Italia final might have done that. Screamed at the manager for not bringing him on until the end of the game even though they were playing ****, and stormed down the tunnel while everyone else was getting runner up medals.
