If he does come to us I hope he does well, I think he deserves a shot at a higher league, when Martinez left us to go to Wigan we were not happy with him, as I understand some of you with Rodgers , but when he left us he took Scotland and Gomez our assistant manager and most of the backroom staff, it was like being bled dry, Scotland went for £2m and even though it was Wigan we wished him well he deserved his chance, I hope you will wish Graham well if he goes, even if it's not us.
I certainly do hope he does well wherever he goes , He will do well for you,I have no doubt! In 12 months time you will think 3.5m what a steal! which is what we are thinking now!
Might be tactical so others offer more. We know he is off so earlier the better - more choice of strikers. wait and see eh??
Welcome Goldie, Cobbler and Simpology - if I have not welcomed you before -that is - and welcome even if I have
We had all Summer to wait for improved offers......I don't understand why we would accept a £3.5m bid now.
Armchair pundits make me laugh, like we all know the ins and outs of a transfer deal that has only been announced on Sky yet everyones questioning the deal already. I for one will keep my powder dry and look what happens over the entire window in terms of buys and sells. If we end up with a wider talent base though less developed and a good surplus on trading I'll say well done. If its 3.5mill total including sellons apperances goals etc then small potato, if its 3.5 mill cash plus 3.5 mill if they stay up plus 50k a goal over 10 or the likes again well played......lets see what comes out officially, we know dannys going and the price will not have been affected by any statements I've seen so far.
3.5 million. Half on a good championship quality left back and then do what the club needs to do with the rest. People are forgetting that we have the best academy in the championship - we will find something good. MM knows the market and may find us a Scottish gem, I have faith
Didn't Mr.B lend us £3.5 to see us through last season? Will any money from this transfer be available for Malky?
Can I put in context for you guys, we had £4m for Scotland and Martinez with an undisclosed fee for the rest, that enabled us to kick on and bring in other players who helped us win promotion, without them going we would not have gone up imo. I don't your club's current circumstances, but if you sell on your player for whatever fee is agreed, perhaps that will enable you to bring others in that will aid you next season.
I believe Bazzer cant pay himself back until he's paid off LA GS and DF. He will not be able to take money out of the club for about 4 years unless we get promoted and is the cap on transfer budget allocation of sale fees about 15%?
Aberdeen people are going on what other(potentially lesser players)are going for! DG was worth more than 3.5m , considering how much the club needs the money , I am surprised we didnt hold out at least 1 week longer Qpr were alledgedly reviewing there bid ,It wouldnt have hurt to see what that may have been! With respect to add ons and sell on clauses ,I hope they are substantial ,because I have this feeling of being ripped off that I cant shake!
Certainly disappointing if he goes for less than £4m, in fact I think he's worth more than that. We need to remember that the deal hasn't officially been accepted yet. Hopefully if he does go early on we can have a full two months to look for replacements. We may also get money from an Ashley Young transfer, it's not all bad!
I`m still hoping this falls through or some one else jumps in with a slightly better offer! Kinda like gazumping him!
Evening lads If sky are correct that Watford have accepted a bid of £3.5m from us i would be pretty sure that there are add ons on top of the fee in this deal based upon us staying up next season, i dont think it is a straight cash deal,
If it really is £3.5m we've been utterly robbed. Much as they don't seem to be held in high regard by fans, at least the Russos managed to negotiate decent fees when selling players. The heist of the century, i.e. Priskin's c. £1.7m transfer to Ipswich, springs to mind. If this is Bassini's (sic. Bazzini's) style, we can expect some torrid transfer windows in the future. The tactic: first, spell out clearly to the press that the club needs to sell players and will listen to any offers. Second, turn down an initial derisory bid for your club's best player. Third, immediately accept a minimal improvement on said derisory bid. Clever. You can see how the man made a personal fortune. Business acumen like that would never lead you to bankruptcy. Oh, wait...
