Because the yanks and gooks will see it as familiarity and latch to it, it's not a name change but turned us into a strong, easily identifiable and marketable brand. For examples look at how many ordinary clothing items are in high street shops with New York Yankees or Harlem Globetrotters on.

Also another small example, if you decided to follow American football, would you be likely to choose the Pittsburgh Ponies, the Dallas Donkeys, or Oaklahoma City NFC? For the moment we are unique in that sense.

There are lots of things I would have looked at before rebranding, but its not the worst idea in the world. I just hope it is purely a marketing ploy and not for his own personal satisfaction, so as in the event it doesn't work after a few seasons, he will revert back to our original and traditional English football club name.

Actually, I'll say this, seeing as you took the time to dislike my post. (Grrr.)

People go on and on about our past, but the fact is that it remains just that. We aren't worried about the past; heck, some of us (not me) weren't supporters when all that hoohah was going on. We aren't concerned about the past because we can't do anything about it, we're concerned for the future. Or the immediate present.

If it's his club and he can do what he wants, would you support him if he thought it'd be better to rename the club Al-Ahly Sporting Club Hull? Then have us play in Red and White? You can't be blase about this and if we sit and do nothing, nothing is going to be done about it.

Nobody is being ungreatful, we're all thankful for what the Allam family have provided us with, but it doesn't mean we have to agree on absolutley everything they do. Putting money into the club doesn't make them unfallable.

Ironic that your username is Hull City AFC, when you claim not to give a **** about the name change.

There isn't a single City fan who isn't behind the team; by their vary nature fans support the team. If they weren't behind the team, then they wouldn't be supporters of Hull City would they? Having a different viewpoint doesn't make you less of a fan and the frankly condascending nature of your post towards those whose opinions differ to yours is insulting and completley unfounded.

So how will a name change from The Tigers to HullTigers make a haporth of difference?

If it's the Tiger, then we already had that. Others have already tried moves into the US market. Success has been the most succesful method.

I feel like we've overlooked the Luxembourger and Swiss markets; that's where all the European money is. Norway apparently have a fair amount too.

Going back to the interview, I'm a little confused over this £11m figure.

Is that the loss for last season (financial year ended 31st July 2013) or is it the projected loss in this coming season's budget ?

Surely it's not the latter ?

It was the fact that Steve Bruce was here that swayed Huddlestone the rebranding had **** all to do with it. I would go so far to say that the fact we have Bruce here will bring in 100 times more income than the rebranding

FFS it will not raise £11m. No change to our name or identity will raise £11m. The fact people are lapping this bullshit up and not even questioning how it's going to work is just ridiculous.

Everything you post on here is bullshit. Only a few days ago you posted a thread about how you know more than the rest of us and you've been told it's all HDM lies. Allam doesn't plan to change anything apart from the business side of the club. Since this interview aired you should be lying low, did you think we'd forget about it? You obviously know **** all and get a kick out of pretending you do.

    Bullshit.

A name change won't make us more money or any better on the pitch. I find it incredible that anyone believes it will. There's no link. All other clubs get by fine with their traditional names and make plenty of money. No one else has even considered changing their name. It's bullshit. The only person in the football world who genuinely thinks this is a good idea is Assem Allam. Everyone else has united in taking the piss out of it and picking apart the obvious, gaping holes in his logic.

Good point. It's daft that a club which is doing so well and generating such good feeling among fans is spoiling it voluntarily with all this ****.

If this name change thing is a goldmine, why are we the only club to do it?

How many clubs run deficits, most of them in the Premier League. Why have none of them come up with this genius idea to change the name?

If there was money in this Man City would of done this, as they have such a common name, they are a fairly new club at the top of the league etc.... But they haven't as they know its a **** idea.

I may be committing a 'no true Scotsman' fallacy, but as far as I'm concerned this issue has had only one positive outcome, and that's that it has sorted the wheat from the chaff in terms of who is and isn't a true supporter of Hull City. Anyone who supports the change of our historic name to something as ****ing absurd as Hull City Tigers - or worse still Hull Tigers - does not understood football and does not understand HCAFC, and should therefore have no say in how the club is run.

Our name is the one thing that connects us with our founding fathers of 1904; with our original players and those first few fans. You're willing to rid us of that on the basis that Allam Snr has told you, completely without foundation, that it will lead to big investment from overseas, Premier League safety and ultimately European football? I'd sooner support a Fourth Division HCAFC than follow a soulless shell of a football club just because they get to play against Man United.

Even those 'fans' who say they support becoming Hull Tigers can't be stupid enough to have missed the fact that Allam lied to them? He, his son and their lackey Nick Thompson all said that the name change wasn't happening and that we City fans had nothing to worry about. Surely it's cause for concern? For suspicion? No, of course not, because you're all as thick as ****ing pig muck and too dense to put 2 and 2 together without getting 'we're going to win the league under King Assem! Herr de derr'

You claim that those of us in opposition to the change are a hindrance to the club and that we are preventing it from progressing, but surely you have to ask yourself the following question - at what point does the club cease to be the one you first started following? You clearly can't grasp that when the name change happens, we will have crossed the Rubicon. We will be beyond the pale. We will no longer be, and never can be again, Hull City Association Football Club.

It's about time you stop being bitter to those with a mind big enough to see past simplicity.

We wouldn't have Tom Huddlestone if we hadn't changed the name, surely that's enough proof that it was a good move?

Maybe we should have a new name for those who oppose it... The blind... The brainless... Maybe both?

    But Erik.

When ever anyone has asked who I support I don't think I have ever said Hull City AFC.

I always say Hull City or the Tigers.

Are we not still registered as Hull City with the premier league ?

Maybe it's me......I just don't see why IF we do become Hull City Tigers it makes any difference...

And as I say iv been going to City since 1965.

And no greavesy i wouldn't drop a neighbour into the **** or a friend and I do have a spine.

I'm more mad that we haven't got a standing area and I do like tradition because I would rather we had re vamped Boothferry park then move to the KC.

When does anyone say they support The Tigers?
I can honestly say I've never heard anyone ever say that.
