He was in far better condition than when we received him We baught a Porsche 911 which had been left in a garage to rust and get grubby for what is now a bargain price. We invested in it, gave it a bit of TLC, scrubbed it up nice, and you have added a new spoiler and a nice set of wheels to it, and continued to love it as we once did
dont think the whole of bristol is happy. some on teh red side i bet would of wanted him to fail when he joined you and when he got to the championship then prem and got his england call up all because he has rovers connections. obviously we can take no credit for his form now as it was the saints who got him fit and into shape to be able to suceed in the higher divisions. but his confidence and form was sky high which he got by playing with us. that confidence and form would have helped him when he joined the saints. so we can take credits in that way and also it was rovers who turned him into a goalscoring machine. we signed him when he was a midfielder and we turned him into a striker. now look at his record with us and the goals he scored with us which put him on the map. last nights interview he didnt mention rovers when he was giving thanks to people. i wouldnt if i was him. you would only thank your current club not previous clubs. there are certain things you would and wouldnt say in an interview. like when joining a new club, if you didnt want to move, you wouldnt say i didnt want to come i wanted to stay. you would say that you are looking forward to meeting his new team mates and playing in front of the great fans. you would get people on your side of your new club. im not upset or disappointed by lamberts interview. he is a great guy and player and even if he never played for rovers i be saying the same. he deserves more chances.
Great post CJ. He's a great guy and the fact that the whole Staduium were chanting his name summed it up for me. Roy - drop him at your peril!
Maybe I shouldn't be saying this here but I have friends who are Bristol City fans and they texted straight after Rickie scored and were full of praise for him. We have our disagreements with our friends in Portsmouth but even they have been gracious enough to give Rickie credit for last night. That may have been because nobody likes the Jocks and anyone who scores against them is a hero. I think the bloke is well liked by the majority of fans because he is honest, hard working and decent and success hasn't just fallen into his lap.
i did say "some" on the red side not all. majority of them would be pleased for him. but there are "some" who would have been chessed off last night
our manager talking about lambert, interesting to hear some of the things. what he says between 41 secs to 53 secs is exactly what all gasheads been saying since lambert lefts us. gutted he left but chuffed for him as he deserves to get to the top which he wouldnt do with us. "some" fans of other clubs just think we should be hating the guy as he left us. they just dont understand!
