So I shelled out for a car parking pass this year, will it be worth my money? I usually get the park and ride and I figured that the time it takes to get from the KC to the park and ride car park will be offset by the wait to get out of Walton Street. Is that right?
I've only parked in Walton Street once. Took me 3.5 weeks to get out. Never again (unless you tell me it's improved)
I used to get to Walton Street at approx 6.45pm after a 3pm kick off and STILL queue half an hour to get out. I now park on Boulevard and it's piece o' piss.
Well this is what I want to know. Are there any tips to getting out, aside from "don't park there in the first place" I drive a Toyota Corrolla, so unless the car thieves are armed with jackhammers and cranes, they won't be getting in. On top of which, who the **** would want to steal my car?! It's worth **** all! I'll just park next to a BMW and draw their attention away from mine
I usually end up waiting until the majority of cars have gone whilst listening to Humberside, normally takes me up until 6ish. I don't see the point of queuing up & moving a foot at a time, then switching the car off, then back on again. I normally get there early too so I'm near the front. The last few times though I've been staying in Hull so have been able to walk in, much easier & then I can drink too.
Ive had a car park pass since the stadium opened. I find that it's quicker to listen to Humberside until the gate at the away supporters end is opened and then drive round stadium and exit on to flyover. Usually out by about 5.30pm.
I find it easier to park in the hospital car park (if you tell the security there that you are going to the footie, sometimes they'll let you park for free) and walk across the walkway.
