Shrek........................ You win Roller

"In 2001, Shrek won the first ever Academy Award for Best Animated Feature"

Surprising, "Spirited Away" won the next year (that is definitely the best animated film EVER) ...But from 2003, Disney has dominated, except Wallace and Gromit 2005., Happy Feet 2006, Rango (awful film 2011) but other than that all other were Disney. Over to you Roller
 
Thanks for that reminder of Spirited Away Beth, a truly awesome feat of imagination. That and Howls Flying Castle remind me of Guillermo del Toro's stuff, or at least some of it. My kids will watch del Toro but have no interest in animee. Fools.
 
Sticking with the Disney theme (that most of us thought we were on), Beauty and the Beast won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture but was beaten to the Best Picture Oscar by which film?
 
a film which in some ways shares the same plot...I've looked it up so will wait for a bigger film buff to answer.

B& the B, first animated film ever nominated in the Best Picture catagory

Should have won....excellent film...
