Rickie in the 'Joe Steinberg Approved' AMC role. Simples. Gaston on bench.

I'm hoping Pochettino sees Lambert as a good candidate to do that. I bloody hope so, because I'm sure he can do it and I can't take him being out of the side, especially after tonight.

But Dan, remember all those times when people have talked about a Saints manager having no Plan-B..? :)

Don't worry...Ricky will play into his sixties because no manager, who wants to keep his job, will dare to drop him.

Corriere dello Sport the source here - http://www.microsofttranslator.com/...do-sa-della-roma-ai-saints-ora-l-inter-124022

"For the Corriere dello Sport on pole for Osvaldo wouldn't Inter but Southampton. The player would be back on his steps, after refusing the English club. The Saints offer a four-year deal from 2.5 million. The Roma 18 million would gross more bonuses. The player, however, would prefer to play in London, but the leadership and yellow team are trying to convince him. The trail Inter, who wants a loan payment with mandatory redemption, is virtually impassable for Rome. Yesterday the giallorossi have accepted an offer for the striker and now expects the Yes of Oswald."

I can't imagine players like Banega or Osvaldo fitting in at Southampton until we have qualified for europe. They are top players and I feel that if they did come here it would be as a stopgap in their career. If we hit a bad patch of form I doubt the would really care etc.

That said I would be very happy for him to come here but wouldn't care at all if he doesn't.

We are really caught between being too good for our reputation atm, next year or perhaps january we will be able to get in some proper improvements.

So is that 2.5 million a year or 2.5 million over 4 years? Someone work out what each would be in terms of weekly salary?

That's about £2.1m which would be £40k a week per year or £10k over four. So yeah pretty sure it's per year.

Errrrr..... Hold on where's Guly....? :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

To be fair I'd imagine NC was at the game. Banega also came on as a sub and scored too, so watch this space I guess...

For full clarity, the line beneath reads:

"Roma have closed the deal for 18 million, all now missing is the player."
