We won the second half 4-2. That's the form of Champions. Calm the bloody jets.

We played well in 2 games last August then went to pieces as DM started tinkering with the team and we suddenly stopped making chances Last year from memory we lost the first two games of the season away at Forest and Home against Gillingham in the cup then won 2 games 4-1 4-2 then we didn't win for 3 months was it? We had a team set up to attack last season but couldn't defend we are going through something similar this year but I don't think that teams are going to find it as easy to stop us creating goals this season also I disagree with the statement that knowing when to come out is god given I can't remember for sure at the moment but I had Banks book and also Jennings book and one of them says in it that it took a few years to work out when to race out of the area to clear and when to stay back now if one of them had to learn why would it be a surprise that other keepers also have to some never do learn but that does not mean that none of them do, Fielding is young enough to learn from his mistakes. It takes time to work out a feeling of trust between a keeper and defenders so that each knows what the other is thinking that is what has to be worked at on the training ground. Fontaine for everyones benefit has to be pulled out of the firing line his confidence is shot Flint and Fielding look like they are completely bewildered by what is happening especially as Fontaine should be the senior member of the defence. I think that if Williams is played then the others will be more able to accept mistakes and be mentally more able to deal with it/them you expect mistakes like we have seen from young players not from the senior players, Fontaine has played at a higher level than the others for much longer so they should be relying on him for help and assistance instead of which they seem to be trying to work out just what is going to happen next. Flint has had something like 18 months league experience other than that all his games were in non league, Frank Fielding is 25 still young in keeping terms I can't remember which premiership club he joined Derby from but I do remember looking at what happened to him in the years before he joined Derby he played for about ten different teams on loan then had a fairly good stint at Derby playing some 60 odd games then injury disrupted things and he couldn't get his place back so although he makes mistakes he must be able to learn from them or he wouldn't have played that many games for Derby in the championship and they finished better in the table than we did.

Agree about Fontaine, it must be very hard for a goalkeeper to gain any confidence playing with a clueless centre half. How do you cope with that...?

Disagree about the compariosn to how we started - this year, WE HAVE A MIDFIELD. SoD needs to sort out the defence, it would only take 1, perhaps 2 changes and once we stop shipping goals, I think we will jsutget stronger and stronger...

    Prem,
How can you disagree with scoring for fun last August.
I'm not for 1 minute suggesting we were a great side then.
What I am saying is THIS August in a lesser league we're shipping goals like there's no tomorrow.

    We do have a midfield.
The trouble is SOD has played Kilkenny which adds pressure to a Fontaine led defence - a recipe for disaster.

'it would only take 1, perhaps 2 changes' - Agree. Drop Kilkenny and Fontaine - end of.
BUT how long will SOD take to realise this massive weakness - and there lies my 'gripe'.

He's a complete bellend that's friends with the Gusheads. Says he's a Gay Meadow Shrewsbury fan but from what I gather another twat that thinks he's knows things when he never goes to a match.

AJ wouldn't bother here. They are a different breed to us lot. Nasty, spiteful, horrid, mutated little tools whom will not have banter as they do not like reality ;)
