Same. I hope I didn't disturb the neighbours next door (but I suspect that's a bit of a forlorn hope ).
We should have a locked version of this thread and sticky it. So incase any of us are feeling down or have used up their 5 daily ****hub videos, fear not.
Lambert is someone England have missed for several years since Shearer retired - a proper striker who can intelligently and properly lead the line. I think he's got himself into the next England squad already. If he hasn't, well we've been here before with MLT.
First thing next week I'm buying an England shirt with no. 20 on, getting Rickie to sign it this season, and sticking it in a frame with a photo of him and his big daft grin. Damn I love that man.
Loved it, and in a pub full of Scots!! I was quiet for Walcott and Welbeck's, but couldn't help going mental on 70 mins.
Just listening to the recording of Radio 5 Live's commentary. I'm recording the moment when Rickie scores, which I'll keep and annoy you lot with in years to come.
Just watched a recording of the match after getting in, absolutely incredible stuff. So happy for him, hope he gets the further chances he deserves and I can't wait to see him smashing in the winner in the World Cup final Have to say also hearing the England fans chanting his name for almost the entire time he was on the pitch was surreal and brilliant.
Lambert himself said if there was a great England match to make your debut in, England v Scotland would probably be it for him due to the rivalry. Chuffed for him. Beauty of a header too.
From a Stoke fan, me and my mates were as pleased as you Saints fans. A genuine nice guy, well done Ricky Lambert! Yes he is the first ever to score with his 1st touch.
I also believe, that at two minutes and an odd number of seconds, he's the quickest debutant ever to score for England, although I haven't checked. Also, is it not a wonder that Lambert joins an exclusive list of some of the best English players of all time, and they shared the distinction of scoring on their debut..? It was an utter delight, but Saints fans weren't surprised. It was an inevitable part in the unfolding story of Rickie Lambert, professional footballer.
So I just woke up. You'll never believe me but I dreamt that Rickie scored the winner against Scotland with his first touch and left the field with Wembley Stadium chanting his name.
