sorry tommy, but that picture does look quite funny. btw, cheers to the Hull fan above, and good luck yourselves
So far as I'm concerned Sandro (if fit) and Paulinho are certainties, with everyone else fitting in around that (assuming Bale is leaving).
Sandro's not fit, nor currently is Dembele. Plus he's often not fit, so we'll have no trouble fitting players in is my guess. I've got completely the opposite worry, we haven't got enough quality players for Sunday. I'm hoping for Paulo Dembe Capoue Lennon/Chadli/Townsend Siggy and even that is hardly overflowing with quality. I'm yet to be convinced by Chadli, Lennon is a question mark to me, as is Townsend. Capoue may not be ready in time. Anyone who is fit and is a quality player will easily get into our current team. There also remains the Bale question. We'll look a lot stronger if he's ready for Swansea. ATM it's quite likely we'll face Palace with a definite lack of quality, bot in the mid and defence, rather than too much of it.
I thought the same thing! Oh dear. Poor old Hudd. He must be wondering what the hell he's done. Shame to see such a talented player leave. I also do not understand transfer fees any more.
So on one thread we're being talked of title challengers, now we don't have enough quality for palace but hopefully that "war chest" will save us We're always going to start the season with a team that has tons of question marks, that's what happens when you rebuild each year but luckily we're facing palace and their defence are going to have their backside ripped open most weeks. Its going to take a few weeks before we see how this new team starts to interact and flow, yet even when everyone is fully fit there are still areas which haven't been addressed and players such as Chadi & Paulinho will need time. Sandro took time to settle, and it wasn't until last year we really saw him come into his own, before that he clearly had potential but we have to stop rebuilding each year as it won't get us anywhere.
JPG - I'm a bit taken aback by that. The players you've suggested there give us a midfield 3 of a current france international, a current brazil international, and a current belgium international. It's hardly scratching around for a half decent player is it ? Even if Bale doesnt play, you're looking at a front 6 worth £75m+. I should think that's probably double the value of palace's entire match day squad.
I wouldn't say outstanding, but last year was his best season for me (in terms of his overall performance until his injury), before that I always knew he could go onto become a great player and showed great potential yet injuries stopped some of his progress.
agree he was superb last season until the injury let's hope it doesnt take him too long to get back into that kind of form
Didn't mean to sound like I was saying Sandro hasn't had some great games before last year, and I was pissed off with Redknapp for not dropping parker at times, yet even if Paulinho turns out to be just as good, he's going to have some off games and it may take a season before we see him at this best.
Mirror are saying we are after Tom Ince and selling Parker and Townsend for £5 million to QPR. Surely this is poor journalism £5 million for Parker and Townsend? Townsend is more than that alone, really hope he stays and proves himself.
No worries. As I remember it, sandro's second season was a bit of a let down because he'd been such a monster at the end of his first season (and then off course he was back on it last season). I'm pretty excited about Paulinho I have to say. He's so Brazilian it's not true. Even if it does take time for him to settle in, and if Sandro takes a while to get back to form from his injury, I can really see those two becoming absolute all time legends.
Not half as taken aback I bet, as I was by you dropping our captain. We'll see who plays on Sunday, I bet the player you didn't even have on the bench, you know our captain, plays. As to all this 'high quality' you're talking about - well let's see who takes the field and how they stand up to Palace. Here's my prediction, the guy you've chucked on the scrapheap will be there strong and dependable as usual, the rest of the defence and the mid/attack we'll see. I hope we put a team out against Palace chock full of quality and with no apparent weaknesses and we steamroller them, but that won't be the Spurs I'm used to
Sacre Bleu et Oooo La La It seems Capoue will sign demain. Now IF he starts against Palace then I'll feel a lot better about the situation. With regards to Paulinho, I'm really optimistic about this guy. It's a completely wild guess, based on no substantial evidence, but I think he'll outshine Dembele and Sandro this season. I'm ready to be completely wrong on this, it's just a feeling I have about him.
I think that is complete nonsense as you indicate. I'll never forget how wrong the press were about the price for Carrick, then Berbs and now Bale. In all cases they laughably undervalued our player. I'll be surprised if both Parker and Townsend are sold to QPR, and absolutely amazed if the price is that low.
Well one, we've got injuries, we always have injuries, so that immediately highlights to me how wrong you were to discard him from even the bench. I'm sorry but I'm really fuming about this. HE'S OUR CAPTAIN. Two, we'll see. I think Daws will have a massive role to play for us, starting on Sunday, unless of course he is injured himself. He's better at defending than Kab, JV, Walker and Rose IMHO, so why he won't be a regular starter is beyond me, but we'll see.
I actually assumed that your earlier post was a joke where you said you wouldnt look at any of my team because i had not picked dawson. Maybe it wasn't ? The team in question wasnt even a proposed current team, it was one which included 3 possible purchases including the young croatian lad who I said I didn't think we would sign anyway. So to get the hump because I hadnt included dawson seems a bit ott. Chill out man
