I think the whole club is going to be absolutely buzzing when he gets back to training. The feel good factor could help us going into the game against West Brom.
England matchwinner Rickie Lambert: "I've been dreaming of that all my life, it means so much. It was my first chance from a corner and I fancy myself in the air, it was a great ball from Leighton Baines and I got a firm header on it. "I was trying to play it cool this week but deep down I wanted to scream. It was brilliant. The lads have made me feel welcome and I've got a lot of respect for them all. It shows how far I've come, I dedicate this to my family and to Southampton Football Club."

Indeed, the ball did take a deflection. For those who anguished over Rickie's miss, let me remind you what Alan Hansen said of Michael Owen missing a sitter for England when at the height of his powers [I actually disagree with this view]... the sign of a great striker is that if he misses he'll always get another chance. For me, the sign of a great striker is that he scores with as few opportunities as required AND that he gets another chance.
Not often you see a newbie who the whole team seems to take to so well. Is he the most likeable human ever perhaps? I think he may well be.
He looks as fit as a Butcher's dog Nearly had a dream second goal that hit a post - unbelievable International debut. Who needs Wayne Rooney !
