While waiting for Yorkie's confirmation (or otherwise), a quickie:
Which was the last town in England (outside of London) to witness a member of the Royal Family crowning himself King there ?

None - the Archbishop of Canterbury performs the Coronation unless it was Henry VIII or earlier.

I carefully didn't use the word coronation but rather 'Crowning himself'. All Kings since Edward the Confessor have been crowned at Westminster Abbey - apart from Henry 111 who was initially crowned at Gloucester. However that's not what I am looking for - this man crowned himself King in all due ceremony (Without Archbishop) and the town supported him. So, who and where ?

A couple of clues - he was a member of the Royal family who proclaimed himself King in 4 towns and crowned himself in one of them (with the support of the population there). He was never actually a nationally recognised King of England. Many years later in a show of royal revenge the train carrying Queen Victoria sped up when going through the towns railway station with all the blinds down, while the mayor and his dignitaries where all waiting on the platform to welcome her.

Perkin Warbeck? (Or Richard IV) so the answer would be Bodmin.

In Taunton, not long before the Battle of Sedgemoor - and a little longer before his execution...

Who do I give that to ? BB I think for the town. The Duke of Monmouth did in fact crown himself in Taunton before losing the battle of Sedgemoor. His subsequent execution was also the last Royal execution in England. But, Taunton it was. Over to you BB.

If you remove the first letter, they are palindromes.

If the first letter of each word is removed, & added to the end of the word, each word would then be spelled the same forward & backwards?
