I do think that Bruce is key to attracting better players than we did last time.

Bruce's links are very good and please don't tell me that an ex-Utd captain doesn't hold some sway with quality players like Huddlestone...

i wouldn't mind betting that Brady & Chester like playing for a Utd legend too. Davies was quoted "But so too was working with the manager Steve Bruce, who is someone I rate very highly".

As much as I respect what PB did for us he really didn't have the same sort of clout as SB when dealing with players.

 

Yes - and he had the naughty step, which sums up his man management skills.

 

It's possible he may play a slightly different role for his national side ?

 

I suppose there is one piece of good news coming from Huddlestone and Livermore... today must be the first day we've EVER been mentioned on the "SkyPad" for the Transfer Rumours thing on SSN!

 

Are we done with signings now?

 

I think Bruce will try and get one more on deadline day. That's when the real bargains will be had.

 

I think the Hamburg player that was being quoted to us may be an option. He was "cool" about links with us, what does that mean?

 

I think we will bring in one more player. That being Rincon.

 

Do we have that much left in the transfer bank to sign Rincon?

 

I'd say we have a couple of million left, which is around how much Rincon is apparently worth.

 

Bruce will return for Palacios. IMO.

Another striker in would probably just mean moving Fryatt out.

 

I have no problem with that. His snail pace won't cut it in the PL

 

We would have one beast of a midfield if we can get Rincon in as well.

Think we should go for a right winger if we were to sign another player.

Saying that, I'd be more than happy to go into the season with our current squad

 

A midfield consisting of Livermore, Rincon, and Huddlestone in a 4-3-3 with Aluko - Sagbo - Brady would be sick. The best news about our two new signings is that it gives us solid depth in the midfield, some more BPL experience, and both players are still young and entering their primes.

 

We're still after Doyle from Wolves for £3m, as far as I know, but it depends on whether he wants to be playing in League One on £40k-a-week or the Premier League for half of that.

Bruce came out and categorically denied the Doyle rumours.
