The starting team wore 1-11 except for Figueroa, because they were saving the number 20 for Daws. That was no indication as to the new squad numbers. I have a mate who works in the club shop and every year he gives me some of these numbers but he's usually wrong. This year he's adamant Meyler is going to be number 7. There's a lot of low numbers up for grabs this year. They'll be out some time this week, but here're my guesses: 3 - Figueroa 4 - Meyler 6 - Davies 7 - Aluko 8 - Quinn 9 - Graham 11 - Brady Edit: Just seen brady_fella's post. It's interesting to see but they rarely mean anything these training numbers. Jak will stay number 1. Squad numbers are always like that, once a player has one it's rare that he loses it in favour of another player, even if he obviously isn't first choice. Maybe managers see it as disrespectful to their players, I don't know.
David Meyler looked good in the No.4 shirt and unless we get another hard man in then leave No.4 for Meyler. But at the end of the day shirt nos are now just for identifications purposes these days. Wigans Kone(striker) last season wore No.2 and Steve Morison(striker) the No.5 shirt 2 seasons ago. Does it matter anymore ?

I was trying to remember David Livermore's shirt number. I know he was 24 in our promotion season, but was he 14 during the previous season. I thought that number belonged to Stuart Green?

McGregor has got the number 1 shirt. Interesting that Jakupovic has a lower number than Harper. Alex Bruce gets number 4? Really? They should've thought that through a bit more. Brady as the #11 looks good too. Surprised Aluko kept #24? Thought he might've taken the #7.
I think, like Elmo, that's 'his' number. Some players like a certain number. Good for the fans who bought a shirt with his name last season too. Same goes for Quinniesta.
Weird. Bruce number 4 and Meyler 7? I'd have given Meyler 4 and 7 to someone more exciting like Aluko or even Sagbo. Also why do we not have a number 18? In fact we haven't had one since Barmby stopped playing. What is that about?
