He does an awful lot more then Matty did off the ball. But then Matty had an awful lot more ability. That's no slight on Gaston, MLT had more ability then pretty much anybody I've seen.

    Dean Richards or Pahars.

Loved both of them. Based on how they played at Saints. I'm thinking of Bale when he was a Saints player, not current form. Mainly just good free kicks.

Or the Wayne Bridge & Chris Marsden partnership down the left. They come as a single item in my book!

I personally don't think we desperately require an AMC who works hard off the ball. We had no problem keeping possession last season with only two of our three central players really pressing, so what I think we need is a creative outlet, like Le Tissier, who is just mad efficient with the ball. Our biggest weakness under Pochettino has clearly been creating chances. Everything else has been solid.

We don't want Gaston to press too much or he won't be available to receive the ball when we do win it back. He needs to be in space as much as possible, not pressing the ball.

Killer is a good shout, but I think I'd have to go for Mick Channon.

Good point I think it has to be as they were when playing for Siants.

Some good shouts there. For the Liverpool game I would bring on Mark Dennis, for the joy of seeing him take out Luis Suarez, give the winker something to really squeal about for once...

    Charlie Wayman.

Paine is a good shout as is Channon. Tiss would be a very different player if he was starting out now. He was pretty quick as a teenager. Imagine a fit, slim Tiss. He would give Messi a run for his money.
