How many top top defenders do we have?! I mean, we don't have anyone you could describe as truly "top top", but particularly out of our CBs.

 

Luke will be top top but not the others.

 

Parker odds on to join QPR now. Rumoured to have passed a medical yesterday.

 

Can Osvaldo play across the front on the wings too?

 

Lot doing the rounds that we're pushing this deal, but also reading of Inter, Fulham, Benfica and Sunderland all also now interested.

Want this guy badly - looks like a top finisher.

 

Nah our rb and lb positions are sorted for years. Still need one more cb.

Saw a journalist's report earlier that claimed they were going for a loan, with a right to buy if they make CL. Hmm, wonder whether Roma would prefer that, or a suitcase of used non-sequential notes from Cortese.

 

I'd rule Fulham, Sunderland and Inter out straight away due to finances. Not sure they can splash £17m on a striker when they've already bought a fair amount this summer. Inter are cash-strapped and Roma don't want to sell to a rival.

Benfica, well, they're a huge club but who'd want to play in Portugal :?

He's like Di Canio at his most mental but with 20 Red Bull and Buckfast down his neck. Gifted talent but if he signs for you, them 2 will have an actual fistfight within 3 months guaranteed

Last season alone he punched a fellow team mate in training, had an on pitch fight demanding to take a penalty when he wasnt the deisgnated taker and then missed, in a fans interview said "what ****ing more do you want from me?" and had to be smuggled out of the first day of pre season training this year as hundreds of Ultras turned up to attack him and club officials literally feared for his life. He's THAT hated.

Punching Lamela was pretty bad, but it seems to have led to him being a bit of a scapegoat even though (as a couple of Roma fans have said) there are a load of bad eggs in the locker room so blaming any one is looking for the easy way out. However, I agree that putting him with Di Canio would only end one way!

As I've said countless times: Pochettino has actually directly worked as Osvaldo's manager, and therefore I fully trust his judgement on his character.

 

That sounds like my kind of man. We do need someone who'll be loved by our fans (yes he wasn't loved by Roma, but Roma fans are a completely different kettle of fish) but get the rest of the league's fans riled up and wound up, the pantomime villain I would love us to have. A thorny little bastard basically.

 

I don't think anyone is saying he is Mr. Perfect, he clearly has a few problems and they were discussed as length when the rumour first came to light, it does make him more of a risk and he could upset a very balanced 'locker room' however in a more settled environment he may be able to focus on his football a little bit more and not punching his team mates. Who knows. It's a risk I would like us to take.

 

I was debriefed by a few (not you beefy) for saying all summer we still need a CB.

 

If MP has managed him before and thinks he's a fit then we should trust his judgement.
