It's the "look at me" culture in general. People can't go about having their fun quietly - they have to make sure everybody notices it be it the barmy army the tartan army, kids with loud music on busses or whatever.

Just phoned ma brother-in-law - he's doon there sitting in Trafalgar Square wi a cairy oot. Says all the kids are in swimming and they just turned the fountain back on in an attempt to get them out of it
