With Taylor out injured for a good few weeks and Marlon Harewood still getting match fit we are very light on strikers so this has to be priority as eiher a permanent of loan signing, as I don't think any of us believe Sam Baldock will have a long injury free run do we??

Will SOD risk the lad from Kiddie now we are in this scenario, especially as we are still shipping in goals, I doubt it?

Doesn't count for much but Wes Burns is back fully fit now and I would rather Burns in the team than taylor but yes you're right a striker is needed

If the rumours are to be believed we are looking at Nacki Wells. You can imagine some on here saying go get him Sean.

But like Shiny say's we could have the striker already with us, I have a good feeling that he can turn out to be a little gem this season and Reid.

Could we afford Wells and even if we could would he want to come here ?

I'm sure there are bigger and richer teams than us looking at him which goes for most available players that are any good....

Burns might well be the future but is he the now? Could he carry the attack on his own if Baldock was injured that I think is what will be the most important thing on the minds of the management at BS3 at the moment. What I think is they are looking for is an experienced pacy striker who could play up top on his own if Baldock was injured, as his record shows he could well be for periods this season, and bring Burns in as a sub at first then a few starts to see how he copes, if you think you have developed a shark repellant you don't just chuck a swimmer over the side and see if it works you test it first.
Because we have been signing mainly young players it does not mean that is always what we will do it will depend on who we can get and who looks like they are better than who we have or will bring something to add to what we have. Having seen who we have already signed I have no doubt that Burt, O'Driscoll and Pemberton are already hard at work looking at who we can get as well beavering away trying to get the defence to work as a unit.

I don't think another striker is needed. Harewood will be fit soon, and with Taylor and Baldock, as well as the academy kids we've got more than enough firepower.

The problem seems to be with Taylor, and you lot thinking that he's not good enough for the side. Any reason why this is? Think we should sell him now?

Do you have a source for this, because a quick search on Google and Twitter showed nothing.

It was on the transfer thread, I don't think for one minute there's any truth in it. About the same possibility as signing Sharp IMO absolutely no chance.

From the little I have seen of him I would think Taylor would be easily good enough for this league....it IS the third tier remember guys!

No. He is our house elf :emoticon-0116-evilg

Also, why did we sign Harewood if he is never going to play ?
It may destroy Burns's confience if he is made to play as a lone striker. Alternatively, it may set him on fire, but it would be more sensible to play him left midfield for a while first to help him get his confidence and sharpness together.

I would still rather see us buy another centre back

Have you seen the size of him and the amount of weight he was carrying when he signed for us ? Unless he sheds a couple of stone he is only ever going to be a sub playing a bit part

Harewood will have shifted that weight fairly quickly. Wayne Rooney was in a bigger state last season, and he went to his normal (still fat) weight after about a month.

I've done enough long-distance running to know that weight and shape isn't necessarily an indicator of fitness. I know several larger guys that run 10-15 miles a go and play sports.

No doubt Wells would be a good signing, but guess he would only take a move to a higher league right now, he could cost a bit as well as a sell on clause as well so unlikely. Jay Simpson may be a sort term loan option.

Holloway to me is a player who should be given a chance who scored again this week against Swindon when all the other strikers like Baldock couldn't.

If not i'd love to see us loan someone like Adam Morgan of Liverpool

First of all, the last thing I'd want is a pic of me like that on Twitter...

Secondly, he looks match ready to me. Get him on the pitch!

1). Stop talking about Baldock getting injured - say it enough and he will...

2). If that is fat, I wish I was - MH and JET = 2 tanks on the pitch

Some say that if you say "Baldock is injured" in the mirror three times, he'll appear behind you, slip on the bathroom floor and will rupture his cruciate ligament.
