Yes but it worked for Kaca because he went to a Championship team as a first team player, unless Jol sends the other two out on loan with similar circumstances I can't see them fulfilling their potential.

Yep agreed with that. But we can't make other teams play our players, they have to earn their places like everyone else.

    Yeovil 0 - 1 Birmingham

"An unfortunate own goal from defender Danny Seaborne handed Birmingham victory at Yeovil.

Gary Johnson's side had the better of the first half, with striker James Hayter hitting the post and Byron Webster testing Darren Randolph. But Birmingham took the lead when Webster's headed clearance under pressure from Dan Burn looped in off the side of Seaborne's head. Webster then saw his header hit the crossbar as Lee Clark's side held on.

Birmingham defender Dan Burn - who was originally credited with the winner - scored the goal at Wembley in May which secured Yeovil promotion to the Championship."

Sometimes, you just couldn't make it up!

Credited the goal, or not, he certainly enjoyed it:

And Lee Clark has been singing his praises. He said,

"He (Dan Burn) has been absolutely magnificent for us in our three competitive games, I thought he looked very, very mature for his age and he handled everything they threw at him, whether it was the small tricky players or the big lad they put on.

"He has certainly improved, I think he's just getting better and better and I hope he has a similar season for Birmingham as he did for Yeovil last year. Then he will go back to Fulham and push for the Premier League squad so at the minute it is benefiting everybody.”

Elsewhere, Ryan Williams has still to make his debut at Oxford Utd. He was again an unused sub as his team beat Bury 2-1 at home.

Sounds petty but I don't like it when ex players celebrate against former clubs that shot them to 'stardom'

Funnily enough, I feel the opposite. When players refuse to celebrate a goal because it's against one of their old teams, it always seems a bit false and PR-oriented to me. If Richardson were to fire one in against Sunderland, I'd want him to be happy about it. A players loyalty should always be to the club he's playing for at the time. If Liam Rosenior were to get one against us, I wouldn't blame him for celebrating, same with Dembele (although Dembele scoring against us would hurt more, whether he celebrated it or not). The point of the game is to score goals and if you're not pleased to get one for whoever you play for, what are you doing out on the pitch?

Nothing wrong with a fist pump or high five etc but jumping up and down uncontrollably? I think clubs deserve a bit more respect. If I were to beat a good friend of mine at a game of tennis for example I wouldn't be screaming at the top of my voice, and I wouldn't like for someone to do it to me.

I would definitely not like it if Dembele celebrated when scoring against us as i believe players should respect their old clubs and everything they did for them. That being accentuated in Dembele's case as Fulham did A LOT for him.

I wouldn't like Dembele scoring against us. If he did, I don't think his celebration or lack of celebration would make a lot of difference to me. I take everyone's point about respect, but we're talking about people doing their job and doing it well. Footballers are meant to score goals, and sometimes I think fans of all clubs get a bit too precious about how their ex-players behave. Once a player moves on, we shouldn't expect them to treat their old clubs like the love of their life. We all enjoyed Duff celebrating goals against Newcastle, didn't we?

Their job is to score goals, not celebrate them.

Duff was a hate figure at Newcastle, his own goal to send them down has not been forgotten, and the fact he jumped ship as soon as they went down didn't go too well either with the Barcodes. The way the Newcastle fans treated him throughout the match, he deserves to celebrate.

Ryan Williams has yet to make his debut for high flying Oxford United. Their 3-1 win away to Torquay has them firmly at the top of the League 2 table with 3 wins out of 3.

Elsewhere Dan Burn’s had a disappointing 0-1 loss to Brighton at St Andrews. It was a hard result to take for Lee Clark’s men, particularly as they had dominated large parts of the second-half and hit the cross bar twice. Totally against the run of play Brighton took the lead on 73 minutes. Andy Crofts found space just inside the Blues area and he made no mistake as he drilled the ball across the front of Randolph and into the far corner of the net.

Jol has told the local rag that Kerim Frei has a future at Fulham but he wants him to have a spell on loan.

”MARTIN Jol insists Kerim Frei has a future at Fulham – but plans to send the youngster on loan to get first-team experience.

The Turkey international has been linked with a £2million move to Galatasaray in recent weeks, and wasn't among the 18-man squad for Saturday's victory against Sunderland. Frei featured just eight times for Fulham last campaign, spending a month at Cardiff City.

And boss Jol hopes to loan out the 19-year-old again this campaign to get regular first-team football. He said: “Kerim is a young lad who's developing. He scored one goal in more than 25 matches, so he needs games. I would love to put him somewhere where he can play games and we can develop him, like we did with [Alex] Kacaniklic.”

And now Jol has revealed that he intends to send Neil Etheridge out on loan, although not just yet ..

“MARTIN Jol plans to loan out young keeper Neil Etheridge once Maarten Stekelenburg returns to fitness.

Fulham's number one suffered a shoulder injury on his debut in Saturday's victory at Sunderland following a tangle with Black Cats striker Jozy Altidore. Stekelenburg was replaced by David Stockdale, who has been struggling himself with a thumb problem.

Third-choice keeper Etheridge has made just one first-team appearance for the Whites, but featured 12 times for League Two Bristol Rovers last campaign. And boss Jol wants to send out the Philippines international once Stekelenburg is fit.
He said: “We can't put anyone on loan at the moment, but maybe that will change. Neil could go to a lower league club.”

And Jol confirms that he wants Chris David to go out on loan. Worth noting his 'strategy' for youngsters who have been given squad numbers.

“Martin Jol plans to loan out youngster Chris David to get first-team experience.

The former FC Twente forward is yet to make his debut for the senior side following his move to Craven Cottage in January. And Jol hopes to get the 20-year-old minutes elsewhere to continue his development. “He's a very talented left-footer,” said Jol. “He looks good but he needs games. Abroad they go into the first team at 18 or 19, but you don't see that in England. “They go on loan, like [Alex] Kacaniklic, come back and be better.”

“That is my idea with the youngsters, to try to find clubs for them.”

Not insinuating Bidley. It just seems that Jol is not going to let the players on the fringe of the main squad rotate in the U21 team. Instead he wants to try and get them regular games in a league team. He has referred to the experience Kaca got last season, which would suggest shortish loan spells with a call back clause.

So far (and I suspect there will be more) he has identified Etheridge, Trotta, Frei and David. Wisely in my view he seems to have changed his mind about Kasami but again that may change, dependent on transfers in.

What I do like about this approach is that it will mean a more settled U21 squad. Six players (Oberschmidt, Arthurworrey, Della Verde, O'Reilly, Passsley and Richards) have just moved up from the U18s and I think it's important for their development that they get regular games in a consistent line-up.
