I doubt it. All those plastic supporters who joined up last time we were in the PL will be back. They wont give a damn about a name change. If we stay up and play nice football like we did last season you wont see any drop in supporters.
Times are hard here. Not sure the plastics will turn out in such numbers a second time- which is a blessing. We may be turning into a yo -yo club but we can't afford to have yo- yo support to match.
Yea I also doubt they will be back in the same numbers. The 2nd season we were up a lot of them didnt come back. I would think that if we yo yo then you will see a good number of those plastics stay on board as a yo yo club would mean quality football and more years in the PL. Not the domestic market, but I was watching the NBC PL preview and they had a segment for Americans to help them pick a new club. The reporter wore everyone's kit except ours and said he wouldnt wear "orange". Then they just skimmed over us and went on to the next club. I was pissed.
To be fair you have to compare both Hull FC and KR's attendances together to get a true picture and they compare favourably with City's attendance so to say Football's is greater is not strictly true, especially when you look at the glory supporters we have aquired since promotion.
It's misleading to compare average attendances anyway as RL is over fewer games, has a lower price with more offers and has many away fans from just an hour or so drive and gets disproportionate free marketing in the local media.
I can assure there wasn't. Being away for half the home matches I didn't buy a season ticket and I used to struggle to get a ticket when I came home
Working weekends\being oncall etc means I cant buy season tickets either but I never once struggled to get a ticket to the home matches, even Chelsea\Man U etc. Our last match against Cardiff was the hardest to get tickets for and that was because I was on holiday for a week after they were released on general sale. We ended up in West Upper
Sort of similar, but a few years later. Man Utd were the only club I could watch on a regular basis even if it was only on TV (Champions League games and them being the only qualifiers)* so that's who I followed. I think right through school (and I did VIth Form as well so you're looking at 13 years) there was only one time the club sent a couple of players in and that was it, and that was with my Primary School being down Spring Bank. Now for High School I was at Cott rather than in Hull, but if they can go to South Hunsley now, and it was still the nearest club to us it means there's no reason not to be doing more. *A point in favour of not clamping down on the streams whilst we're selling out. People who see the streams there if we're then relegated might have caught the bug and be able to replace some of the glory hunters amongst the newer fans. The streams will certainly stop.
Rugby also seems to attract more gormless women who insist on going with their blokes to rugby. Factor out these and their chubby little offspring and their true support is about 50% of what it appears to be now.
